As its stainless steel we could put it in the dishwasher and be confident it would be clean and sterile. The steel also makes for precise slices, even a boiled egg can fall apart if not cut properly. The product needs a bit of caution in handling, the blades are thin and overall its a bit too light for rough handling. Careful use will make it last forever, but its not something to throw casually into the kitchen drawer.

I suffer with Rheumatoid arthritis and have found this far easier and safer to slice hard boiled eggs for my salads. Along with my tomato slicer these are a godsend to me. I'm very happy with this.

Classic design and nicely made. Sturdy and works well. Dishwasher safe and even had a hole on it so you can hang it up on a hook. What more could you ask for?

I thought that an egg slicer fully made from stainless steel would be a better choice than a plastic based one. There are however a few downsides on this product’s build. The hinges are loose, so the movement must be very careful and precise for the blades to remain aligned with the grooves. They are not actually blades but thin wires, which have a questionable life span. Categorically not a tool for heavy duty, just for occasional use.

I purchased this because of the customer rating of 4 stars. Maybe this product was useful for customers. I found one wire became loose and unusable after cutting two eggs. Once wire was loose it became impossible to slice through an entire egg.
