This is a well established brand and mini Cooper S R53's are known to consume oil. Mine consumes around 1 litre per 1400 miles or so. I parked the car on a flat surface and started up the car to warm up the engine to temperature before switching it off. After allowing the oil to settle down for 5 minutes I checked the oil level which showed 1/3rd full according to the dipstick. Please bear in mind that you need to give it approximately 300 hundred or more miles for it to work. I then added the entire contents of the liqui moly before topping up with enough oil to the maximum level of the dipstick. I made weekly mileage and oil level checks for a period of two months. At the end of the first month I topped up the engine from a 2 litre bottle and noted down the quantity used. I did the same at the end of the 2nd month. At the end of my test, I found that my car burned 500ml less of engine oil each month! I've driven my car for several years and have consistently topped up 1 litre a month, hence I knew for sure that Luqui Moly works for me. For those of you with serious gasket or O ring leaks you may not get the same results like me. I think it works for those of us with minor leaks or oil burning. Results!

LIQUI MOLY Stopp Öllecks ist ein interessantes Additiv, wenn man kleinere Undichtigkeiten im Motor hat, etwa bei alten Dichtungen aus Gummi oder Kunststoff. Ich habe es in einem älteren Wagen mit leichtem Ölverlust (Schwitzöl) ausprobiert, in der Hoffnung, nicht gleich in teure Reparaturen investieren zu müssen. Nach rund 500 km habe ich tatsächlich eine kleine Verbesserung festgestellt – der Ölverlust war minimal geringer, aber keinesfalls gestoppt. Es dauert eine Weile, bis das Mittel wirkt, und bei größeren Lecks bringt es einfach nichts. Auch nicht bei defekten Dichtungen oder undichten Ölwannen. Da hilft nur die Werkstatt. Positiv: Es hat den Motorlauf nicht negativ beeinflusst, keine Nebenwirkungen festgestellt. Die Anwendung ist simpel: Flasche rein ins warme Öl, fertig. Fazit: Für alte Motoren mit kleinen, altersbedingten Dichtungsproblemen kann es helfen – aber man darf keine Wunder erwarten. Wer Öl in Pfützenform verliert, braucht die Hebebühne, nicht dieses Additiv. Als Übergangslösung okay, aber eher was für Optimisten mit schwitzendem Altblech.
