Great Tool for Therapy with Teens
I work with teens, and I really like this workbook. Itโs easy to read and doesnโt feel intimidating, which makes a big difference. The exercises actually get teens thinking and talking โ especially when we go over them together in therapy. Itโs a simple, helpful tool for building coping skills and emotional awareness. Iโm glad to have it in my toolkit.

Great book!
I got this for my 15 year old daughter (sheโs in 9th grade.) What many parents of teens fail to recognize is that their brain is going through as many changes as it did when they were 2; itโs growing so rapidly and fast- and you mix that with raging hormones and the pressure of just being a teenager (and itโs especially hard right now) youโll find many tough days and moments where your teen is a challenge to say the least. From emotional outbursts to whining like a five year old to moodiness to secrecy by omission or lying to crying evenโฆ. All these waves of emotions and emotional expression are very overwhelming to someone whoโs going from little kid to young adult in a short period of time. We need to have more compassion and more patience w our teens and tell them โI screwed up, I yelled / lost my temper and I shouldnโt have said/did _____. Iโm sorry. I Hope you can forgive me at some point in time. Iโll work on not doing that again.โ <<< that is repair. We need to initiate repair when we screw up / even if itโs having a short attitude and snapping quickly / doesnโt have to be a big blow up. Initiating repair is so important. Anyways, this book has helped my daughter learn some things and work through things. I ask her to randomly pick a number and I go to that page and ask her to work on that lelsson. Itโs no miracle book.. but it is helping with challenging her perspective and knowing herself better. I recommend this for any and every parent.

Well Set up- But triggering
I got this book to help my young teen get through the emotionally challenging years ahead of her. I was hoping for more of a self-help style workbook, with more talking and more storytelling inside. This is very much a workbook with questions and answer sections. It is very well done, however there are many triggering guides that are unnecessarily in the workbook as "suggested answers". Well, if your teen doesn't have those thoughts in her head prior to reading the book, then the suggested answers provided will certainly introduce those harmful thoughts into her psyche. For example "I'm too fat to wear this outfit" or "I'm not good enough for him", etc. If she was feeling insecure and inadequate, but didn't quite know why she felt that way- she may read these suggested answers in this book, and then falsely assign blame to these "thoughts" in her head and then begin to feel like these suggestions. Like "Oh, that thought hadn't crossed my mind before. Maybe that's why I feel the way that I do about myself" There is a lot of good CBT work ideas in this book. But, there is definitely some negative work in here that may act as counter intuitive to what we are trying to do with this workbook.

it is an eye opening book for any teenager who wants to understand their own behavior and emotions.
This is an excellent book for any teenager, it should be part of the school curriculum, it helps them to understand emotions at a great pace with activities and reflections that are adapted to their brain stage and development, and gives them the ability to understand themselves and their emotions, and how to think at a deeper level for their daily behavior

Great resource for parents as well
I liked how the author really considered what parents and their kids need to reflect and to feel better. Mental health is such an important topic for teens since social media is their go to "get away". Absolutely support this movement and would describe this book as a great and easy tool for kids/youngsters. Would recommend.

An Amazing Workbook
This workbook is broken down into two parts being cognitive techniques and behavioral techniques This workbook provides teens with exercises that reinforce the many different skills such as navigating different emotions, how to manage stress in a healthy way, how to regulate and come back to earth whenever your feeling overwhelmed etc. Very educational books that I had bought for my son.
