Nice quality I'm using for a custom baby gate in the home but it is sturdy enough for a big garden gate outside.

I am using this for a fence gate in a specialized situation where the latch can only be at the bottom. It works well for that and is small but still a heavy duty product. Although I am happy with its performance, I have noticed rust spots on it after about 2 months. If it was really suitable for outdoors, there definitely should be zero rust after such a short time. Probably a good choice only for indoor use.

This spring loaded latch is of good quality and was easy to install. Both the screws (4 pcs) and striker plate were included in the box. The latch assembly worked perfectly for my purposes.

I got this so I could make a Harbor Freight folding tile saw stand that can't fold once the saw is bolted to it actually fold. I wanted something simple that would keep it folded but be easy to release. This fits the bill perfectly. Plus, being stainless, the water from the saw will not harm it one bit. Now I just need to refabricate the stand. It's operation is simple. It includes a strike plate but it's flat. Normally they have a curve on one edge so when the gate closes it easily pushes the plunger in. If using this with a wooden gate I think over time it'll damage the wood. But almost any strike plate will work. It's just not likely to be stainless. The spring is plenty strong and the arm have lots of leverage to open the latch.
