Small but mighty
I bought the 125mm version of this tool as I thought I’d give it a try. I have a pair of Klein pump pliers which cost approx £70, which I was never really impressed with. I have a recurring old injury and I’m looking to lighten my every day carry load, and I figured these would suffice for 80% of my jobs. Firstly they’re small, very small. But they feel good quality, and as they open to approx 21mm they’ll be useful for lots of applications. I’ve already used them this afternoon and they were impressive. Being Knipex I don’t think quality will be an issue going forward, I have some old Knipex stuff from years ago and they’re still very good. Already I’m looking at a bigger version, I’m not sure yet how big I want to go ( cost v use I’ll get from them ) because they aren’t cheap, and as my Klein ones failed to impress, I’m mindful of wasting another £70. I read a review in which it was stated By the reviewer he’d wished he’d got them sooner, this edged it for me and I feel the same after buying them too.

Handy Quality Tool
Very compact, handy tool, expensive, but you get what you pay for, a high quality tool. The parallel opening jaws are particularly useful on plated nuts which could be damaged with standard pliers ( yes I know you should use the proper sized spanner but not always available)

An excellent little tool, and so much better than an adjustable spanner!
Several years ago I bought a larger version of the Knipex pliers wrench for my toolbox, and have been extremely happy with it. I nearly always use it in preference to a standard adjustable spanner ("Crescent wrench"). Six months ago I bought the 125mm version (86 03 125) of the Knipex, and have been carrying it with me every day in a pouch on my belt, alongside my Leatherman Surge multitool, to replace a 4" Bahco adjustable spanner. Whilst the Leatherman will happily grip objects in its pliers, the teeth are not best suited for tightening nuts and bolts. The Knipex pliers wrench on the other hand, with its smooth parallel action jaws, is a much better tool for this sort of work. If necessary, a bolt can be held stationary with the Leatherman, and then the nut can be loosened with the Knipex. The jaw opening of 23mm vastly exceeds the 13mm of the Bahco, and it can be used for jobs which an adjustable spanner can't tackle, like straightening metal. Once you get the hang of it, the ratcheting action speeds up tightening and loosening tasks, and the self-tightening jaws mean that you don't have to grimly keep the handles pressed together like a pair of pliers. Although I don't use it every day like the Leatherman, it has come in very useful and is particularly good on brake pipes. I have no hesitation in recommending this great little tool!

Second Pair of these they are great
Watch out these are surprisingly handy to have in your pocket (These and a good quality multitool are always in my pocket) and I use at work on a daily basis to save me having to trudge back to the car for a socket set or spanner just to undo a chassis earth) . These are so much better than chewing up a nut or bolt with a pair of pliers and give about the right level of leverage for 10 - 12 mm bolts (Or some of the funny US Standard SIzes close to 10 or 12 mm) any bigger and its spanner or socket time realistically. Be warned these will attract attention of others at work and people seem to get great satisfaction working the mechanism to open up and close down the jaws. This is how my first set went missing (Probably on top of a rack or the equipment in a data centre down London.

Useful when you need it
Quality tool, very niche applications however very useful for use in the motor trade. Versatile tool. Slightly expensive but knives quality means it’s a lifetime investment. Great item.

Wouldn't buy it again
Great idea but maybe I got a poor QC item. It is not smooth at all. And too expensive for what it is.

125mm is delicate but solid
The tiny Knipex pliers are very cute to hold but still feel really well built in the hand. Photo shows the 125mm pliers against a ruler and 6"/150mm adjustable pliers. The difference on the jaw position between the handle being fully open vs closed varies around 2.5 to 3.5mm and the tooth locations for increments seemed to be in the 1.5 to 2mm steps. The Knipex website states it has a capacity up to 23mm which I assume would be the jaw fully open on the largest tooth location of the 11 - which ties in with what I measured (11x1.8mm + 3mm).

Quite Pricey
Great for working on fine metal pieces, like watches and spectacles.

Thx.
