Works Perfectly on Raspberry Pi 5
I ordered this to replace the finicky DSI display on my Raspberry Pi 5, which stops working and has to be reinstalled every time I update the OS. With this HDMI display, I just plug it in and it works. Installation is easy - literally just plug in the HDMI and USB connections and it'll work perfectly. I mounted the Pi5 to the back of the display. You will need the included brass standoffs to mount the Pi high enough to miss the HDMI port on the display. I also used the HDMI and USB adapters that were included instead of using the cables, which are also included. For the Pi5, you will need the USB adapter from the bag marked 3B and the HDMI adapter from the bag marked 4B. The USB adapter for the 4B didn't quite line up properly on mine. There were no instructions included, but it really was just plug and play for me. You can find the documentation on the Hosyond web site if you need it. Just click on the link for the "7inch HDMI Display-H" and it'll take you to the instructions. They have pre-configured images for the Raspberry Pi that you can download and burn to an SD Card, and also drivers and instructions for installing to an existing Pi OS. I literally just hooked it up and it worked, so didn't need any of the instructions or drivers from the web site. The model shown on the web site and in the documentation is slightly different - it doesn't have the speakers or speaker connections, and the brightness \ volume control is a bit different, but otherwise it's the same display. As for the speakers, they're optional, and if you decide to use them, plug them in before you glue them down. The plugs are a little finicky, and only go in one way, and it'll be easier without the speaker in the way. I installed them, and they work, but don't expect audiophile quality from them. The display is bright and crisp, and the touchscreen is fairly responsive, especially compared to the cheap DSI display it replaced. Overall, I am quite pleased with this display, and won't bother messing with DSI displays ever again.

Works
Touch screen worked perfect with provided usb cable. Perfect screen for my small form factor media pc, using it as a fail safe if I can’t remote connect to the pc. Screen protector still attached in photo..

Updated. Touch is working on exchanged item.
Revised Feb 15,2025 I returned the original puchase and instead of buying another brand tried this one again. This time it worked just fine. Touch works very well. The screen seems bright enough and it seems to be all around very good. Works well out of the box on pi 5 with raspbian. Will be changing operating system to android on the pi and hopefully will have the same results. Good purchase. ========================== I tried on Raspberry Pi 5 and 4b. Moved cables. Used different cables. Tried several different operating systems. Raspbian, emteria android, moode, osmc. Made all the changes I was supposed to make to the config.txt. (those changes caused a problem with the mouse cursor changing into a big box) I even downloaded the versions of raspbian from Hosyond web site that were preconfigured for the pi. No luck. I did think the picture was good. But without touch I'm not sure I have a use for it. It seems to be decently built. I like that I can mount the pi directly to the back of it and that it has its own speakers but I never tried the speakers so I can't attest to their quality. But I'm sure they would be fine for what I would use it for. Will be returning very soon unfortunately.

Solid Display for Various Uses—With Caveats
This 7-inch IPS LCD touch screen has proven to be a solid choice for my various computing needs, but it's not without its limitations. The picture quality is commendable, and the touch response is accurate, making it a pleasure to use for both coding and casual browsing. It connects well with multiple devices, from Raspberry Pis to PCs, which enhances its versatility. One major drawback is the lack of built-in speakers. While I usually connect external audio devices, it would have been convenient to have audio integrated into the display. Additionally, the absence of a power button means you'll need to manage power through your device, which can be a hassle. Despite these issues, it’s a great monitor for the price, and I recommend it to those looking for a reliable secondary display.

So far so good
Just unboxed it and connected my Raspberry Pi Zero 2W running RetroPie. I got this during the Big Spring Sale for $45, but even the $53 regular price is a good deal - 1024x600 touch with speakers AND headphone jack! Out of the box the speakers are not attached, but that's ok since I will primarily be using headphones. Headphones and volume control work and the sound is good but not loud. I haven't tried the touch display yet as I don't expect to use it. And instead of the included stands I am using a foldable wire bookstand from my local library. For my brief initial test I plugged the micro usb power cord into a computer's usb 2.0 port and it works well. It did not work from a usb hub on the Pi, though. Maybe a more powerful Pi running from AC power would do it. The linux console text is too small to read, but EmulationStation and games look good. I will have some fun tweaking to do for console font size and aspect ratio for games, but so far I am very satisfied.

Defective screen and bad customer service
I ordered this screen last year, but didn't get to my project for it until about a week ago. I opened the package and the ribbon cable between the screen and the board was damaged. The screen wouldn't work properly. They do not honor a warranty or offer one. I contacted them about a replacement cable or replacement screen, but they don't honor any manufacturing warranty or service. If you do take the risk and order something from these guys, you better check the function on it before the Amazon return window expires, or you will be left with a pile of junk. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

So far so good!
Out of the box it was great, with super quick and easy setup. The tutorial instructions were slightly confusing but I was able to figure it out quickly. It took me only a few minutes to update the config.txt file on my Raspbian image, and both the screen and touch are working perfectly on the first try! That said, it didn't take very long for the touch input to stop working, seemingly completely. So, still working great as a monitor and working with my Pi, but docking two stars since it's no longer a touch-screen which is what it's billed as. Others have complained about the strength of the PCB around the mounting holes, but I haven't had issues so far.
