GM Genuine Parts 25877453 Dome Lamp and Reading Lamp Switch

Works very well. Nice click to differentiate on / off. This seems like a quality part that will last a long time.

I bought a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette van and the map lights didn't work. I found the original switches in pieces and searched for replacements. I ordered some that I thought might work but had to return them. I eventually found that Amazon stocks the GM replacement part so I ordered a set. They are close but be prepared to modify them to your specific needs. First off, the wiring style is nothing like what mine was. I had to cut the connectors off, strip about 1/4" off the ends, tin the ends with solder then flatten the ends in a vice so they would slide into the tiny slots in the end of the switches. I watched a fellow on YouTube drive himself nuts trying to figure out how to get the wires to stay in place. I was lucky and even with some rough handling they stayed in place. I had to grind about 1/16" off the top of the shaft as it was too long to fit in my fixture properly. I also made some modifications to the fixture so I could use led bulbs in it. After all of this, I am happy with the results of my efforts. The lights work as they are supposed to and are brighter than the originals. Good well built switches from a USA source.

it is a dome light switch and there is nothing wrong with it, For my 2001 chevy silverado 1500 (GMT800) platform. the switches DO NOT fit the buttons on the truck. I fixed this issue by taking some polyester fabric from a shirt label and stuffing it in the button to make the nub on the end of the switch become an interference fit with the button, I am sure a layer or two of a similar tough material would work

We bought this to replace a broken button on our 2004 Chevy Tahoe, we had to adjust it and use some of the old parts to make it work, now the buttons are a little too popped out but it works! Cheaper than buying a new console.

Worked fine after several trials. Original had 2 wire slots while this one had 3. If U have 2 wires (1 from power & 1 to lamp), use middle slot for power & the one to lamp either outer slots work. Had to put drop of glue to fit the button otherwise it will fall. Used smal crimp ends to enter wires into switch. 4 stars for button not fit and no wiring instructions. If U get Aliexpress switch type use outer slots for power and lamp.
