Will this reduce external noise (traffic) if placed on the wall under windows inside?

Hi. I used them on my studio walls to deaden sound as I am a voice-over artist. They do a pretty good job at doing that. But not sure if they would mask too much external sound.

Do these also retain heat as well as sound

A little but they are only 1cm thick.
