Will this work on a mobile home door?

These Flip Locks are heavy duty and your mobil home door frame may be too thin. They do maker lighter duty flip locks. Possibly just by installing with shorter screws this may work out for you. I really do love ours on our front door. I no longer have to physically go to the front door to make sure its locked because the lock is visible enough to see from across the room to verify the door is locked.

Can you secure home with this when leaving home or only when inside home?

I use it when I'm at home and when I'm away. (I leave through the garage) Of course, if the front door is your only door, you can't lock it from inside.
