OXO Salad Spinner 4.0

We bought the larger version of this salad spinner, and whilst it worked well for large amounts when preparing food for a lot of people, it was just too big for two people and took up a lot of storage space. So we bought this one - it works just as well as it's larger sibling, but it's a lot better to store. We initially chose OXO as they make some good quality items and these salad spinners are up there at the top. They're very well designed, with a sturdy basket and a useful bowl. Being able to lock the push mechanism in the down position makes it easier to store, and it comes apart easily to clean. The push down to spin is a great idea, especially if you have trouble with gripping a handle on a normal salad spinner. All in all, this is a great salad spinner. It's not an inexpensive item, but definitely worth the money.

A complete game changer! This salad spinner is absolutely amazing. It really performs well, keeping all salad vegetables dry after washing, so easy to use, to clean and store. It saves so much time and effort when preparing salads and it is really excellent quality! Would highly recommend and definitely recommend to everyone!

Very good product. Heavy as large but very useful as you can store washed & strained items in here in the fridge. The only downside is the thin plastic disc on the bottom as if not careful you’ll lose altogether or at least in your cupboard! Would recommend but put a colour on the thin plastic part so it’s more visible please by the way I highly prefer the glass items well over z& sbove plastic items in general

A great product. Good quality. Spinning mechanism is very good. I love the design and how the spinner pushes down for storage. Stop button is very handy. Small size is perfectly adequate. Doesn’t completely dry the lettuce, but much better than using a tea towel. Highly recommended.

I've avoided salad spinners before because they were too big but this little beauty is perfect 👌 Just right for 2 of us. Rinses and spins lettuce, greens, fruit and herbs. Absolutely brilliant 👏

I was dubious about this because our old salad spinner sucked! The spinning mechanism was constantly coming away mid spin and was difficult to put back on. What I doubted about this one is, if its so sturdy then surely it cant come apart to be cleaned?? It can. So far I've made my hubby do the dishes and he says it describes how to take it to bits in the instructions. I've made a salad with this and its great. I used to try drying the washed leaves with a tea towel and its been awful. I do sometimes put things in twice after emptying but I'm quite happy with that compared to using a tea towel! This salad spinner is great! My hubby used it without knowing about the button to stop it and even without the button its really good! Its really thick and sturdy - we thought from the pictures that it was glass but its actually just a really solid plastic bowl. We tried whole branches of kale in it and that was pretty limited - could only get a few in at a time. But then we bought the smaller one so what can we expect? I tried to put a broccoli in it and it absolutely wouldn't fit. It would have been ok if I put smaller bits in but wouldn't fit a whole one. Now, pretty much anything that will fit will be going into it!! I love it! Couldn't recommend it more.

Updated to this new model, after the last one lasted so well. Well made , does the job well. Very pleased with it.

My previous spinner is a handle type, from another brand. Bought this because the plastic bowl on the last one cracked. Bought this on amazon limited time deal. The OXO has an impressively thick bowl. Quite weighty. Time will tell of its durability. The draining basket draining holes are of a small dimension that means water droplet surface tension is enough for lots of water to linger. Requires sharp taps by hand to shake off the suspended water droplets. Since using it, I've learnt that I'm not a fan of the pump action spin mechanism. The pump action mechanism has a finite RPM, which isn't fast enough to get my salad as dry as I'd like it. You can furiously repeatedly plunge the pump action but ultimately it tops out at an RPM limited by the materials. There's no flywheel to accumulate kinetic energy. With the top handle style spinners, you can spin as fast as your muscles will allow, which is essential for getting rid of water on salad. You can also go clockwise or anticlockwise, to ruffle up the salad when the centrifugal force pins the salad to the bowl and no water can easily escape. This OXO will only spin in one direction, unfortunately. The instant stop button, seems like it may be a point of failure. Though I don't really have a need for it. I'm happy watching it slow down to a halt by itself. Since I've used it, I'm keeping it. If all else fails the outer bowl is sturdy that I could use it as just a bowl. Next time I'll buy the top handle type of spinner.

Litten på grund av rotations plattan i mitten går ner i sallads slunga får det inte plats så mycket som de ser ut. 1portion eller 2 små portioner. Ser inte utt som på bilden ser utt som den stora i utförandet. Annars bra funkar.

The glass bowl feels high-quality, and the spinner works reasonably well. However, I usually need 2–3 spin cycles to get the salad fully dry. With cheaper plastic spinners, I’ve had the same issue, but it was easy to quickly dump out the water between cycles. With this one, the heavier glass bowl and the detached spinning mechanism make emptying the excess water a bit inconvenient. Overall, it does the job, and I prefer the glass over plastic to reduce microplastic exposure, but the design could be more user-friendly.

What do I like? - It's honestly great looking compared to other options. The lack of clamps and transparent white design will look great in any kitchen - The pump design is also way better than any crank version. There is no grinding and struggling to spin it, unlike with my previous crank salad spinner. It feels effortless to use the pump - The brake button is really thoughtful too and will smoothly stop it from spinning - There is a lock switch for the pump which keeps the pump at it's lowest state, which helps it stay compact for storage - Price is amazing for this quality - It is as easy to clean as any other spinner Would I recommend this product to you? Yes! I have had no issues with this over the two years that I've owned this so I would totally consider this to anyone

Excellent sturdy salad spinner. Hardly ever use the old one. Nice feel, works well to extract moisture. Very happy with tgis purchase
