Hubby had been learning chess on Duolingo. So, I wanted to buy him a chess set, but not one of those boring wooden ones. The board and pieces are fabulous. It takes a bit of thought to remember which I'd bishops and knights, but we'll get there. My only disappointment is that the box was damaged.

I bought this as a gift, it arrived a day late and had no packaging at all just the address label stuck to the product. So now everyone in the house knows what it is. I used the before 1pm next day delivery and it was delivered 2 days later at 5.30pm which is not what I asked for. Great item but totally let down by amazon

Excellent . good weight to pieces . good size pieces . Had a long time still love it .

As other reviewers have stated no instructions (even though I can play chess), design issue with Joker being on purple and Batman on black instead of white although I can understand why, thirdly the lack of pouch for the pieces which means the pieces must stay in the plastic packaging when not playing which is a little tight and finally fourthly the board could have had a bit more substance than cardboard. Is it worth the value? As a niche product and the design and quality of the chess pieces then I would say yes but the basic cardboard board does take the value and attractiveness from the set.

Well made playing pieces which look fantastic but the folding thick cardboard board is a bit of a letdown.

This is for a Xmas present so haven't opened box but going by pictures on box and weight I know he will be over the moon he loves batman this is ideal gift 😊

This has to be one of the best values in chess sets here or anywhere. Not sure why the hell or when the hell chess sets became an exclusive item for the rich! The prices I have seen have been absolutely shocking!!! There's some kind of monopoly with chess but thank goodness it has not reached its ugly tentacles to this set. The box is pretty nice size and has a folding board...this board is the only weak part of the whole set because it is made of cardboard, folds and might not last especially with kids. However, the rest of the set is outstanding! Really nice pieces. The pieces are also large and very well detailed. They are plastic but that is ok - makes it more durable. Overall this is a great set for adults or kids.
