Amazing piece of kit!!!
Absolutely amazing. We have lodgers who are not averse to opening their windows when the heating is on, or whilst on holiday for weeks leaving their radiators on. After installing a smart radiator thermostat in the bedrooms, I can now switch off the heating to any bedroom for the period they are away remotely. In effect have I have zoned almost every room in the house, so I now only heat the rooms that are used. Brilliant. So to start with I am a 60 year old woman. Not amazingly tech savvy. however fitting the internet bridge to the router was easy, instructions were clear and simple. Pairing the thermostats was easy, and then fitting them, no trouble at all. The thermostats are a very attractive sleek white with led lights that light when manually changing the settings ( very Star Trekky). The app itself was easy to download and program, though things like adding extra time blocks needed investigating on the internet as to how to do it. All our upstairs bedrooms were on one zone. Now each bedroom is a zone. After playing with it for a while I have managed to program different bedrooms to come on at different times depending on the work pattern of the people in them.So far the software hasn't crashed. I can't make any comments about the long term reliability of the thermostats. The software is also lacking some features it would be nice to have, like a temperature limiter, which can't be manually overridden. These are just personal ideas. Overall really impressed so far

Quality could be better and poor documentation
I purchased the Smart Radiator Thermostat Starter Kit to install at my mother's (who has dementia) house. Her radiators have the Danfoss RA type fitting and the plastic adaptor provided in the kit does not form a good connection. I found a video on Youtube that demonstrated the issue and other reviews also seem to have had issues with this particular fitting. I wrote to Tado and they asked me to loosen the screw on the adaptor but that did not help, they also referred me to metal adaptors that I could buy online (instead of the plastic ones provided)! This is an expensive product and should work out of the box. I have returned as it did not work for our radiators. This product seems to get a lot of positive reviews and I guess it largely depends on what radiator fitting you have, I would certainly not recommend for Danfoss RA type fitting until Tado addresses the issue (and I might look at the product again). The other issue with this product is the documentation, nothing included in the product and I could not find a single web page that took you through the installation process for the thermostat. I figured it out but this is an area for improvement.

Dont waste your time!
Had 2 valves for 6 months. Regret! Dont waste your time. Noisy. Pain to install, never recalibrate’s after changing batteries. Always complains batteries need replacing even after immediately changing them for new. Valve is inaccurate given its position on floor, only offers 1 deg increments not half degree like nest. Spent hours faffing with devices trying to make them recalibrate or removing device and adding again post batt change. App is a pain to use. Cust support give you a number which directs you back to online chat. Takes days for support to reply. Unsatisfied. Dont do it! Stick to cheaper manual valves, far less hassle.

Almost perfect
I was planning to get a few of these earlier than they came out, or maybe anyone was planning to release them. Finally, I bought them, they're pretty expensive... The first impression on boxing was really good, manuals and QR codes everywhere, so probably even my grandmother can set this up. Hoewer the thermostat itself feels a bit cheap and plasticky. I think the finish is the best on it and it will be really dirty and uncleanable soon. The knob on the top also feels much more plasticky and loose but works well. Installation was super easy, I did it in minutes without reading any paper. Few mins later it started to make a noise with the motor, I was pretty shocked how this small device can be this loud. And there was noise again and again and again... I was worried it might be the case how it operates 0-24. But I was almost 100% sure they can't sell anything like that, so I was waiting few hours. I think these few hours is the calibration of the device as it is learning from the measured data. After the calibration it was just amazing... the reason why I bought these because I can't sleep in a warm temperature, but I can't get out from the bed in cold. But that is not even the best thing in these. They keep the room temperature much more consistent than any other traditional thermostat. I think the reason behind this is it calculates the temperature of the dropping heat rather than just turning on and off the radiator on a temperature. So if you one of those people like me who hates winter because of that 1-2-3 Celsius degree difference everywhere in the room, you have to get a set of these!

The TADO thermostats are great, but these ones are old versions
The TADO valves sold by "Box Online Technology Store" are old versions. I bought two and noticed that the firmware would not upgrade from v42, although all my others were at v66. After contacting TADO, this appears to be because they are a previous version that does support recent firmware versions. That having been said, TADO is a great system and I now haave 15 of them. Only limitation that I have found is that you can only have 10 rooms in total. which becomes a problem sooner than you think if you want to start controling ensuites, guest toilets etc. So DO buy TADO, just not from "Box Online Technology Store "

Tado triggering boiler 24/7 - not green and not cost effective
Worked fantastic for a year, but 4 valves have now failed. The Tado valves are very sensitive and struggle to oppearate any valve that is not in perfect condition. Traditional thermostatic heads have much more tolerance when the valve gets older and becomes stiffer. The result is that the motor on the Tado head is unable to operate the valve and it becomes permanently on. Rooms overheat and the Tado head is unable to turn off. I’ve now had this happen on 4 valves. Replacing the valve has fixed this on one radiator but is expensive. For this reason, regrettably, I can not recommend Tado, even though I love th system when it opperates correctly. Update 3 years in ... After 3 years my Tado system has started going in to 'emergency mode' causing the boiler to run continuously and heat the house 24/7. This has happened twice now. Waking at 3am to find the house is like a sauna. Not green and not cost effective. Tado support haven't been much help.

Not Working Initially as Expected. Fixed remotely by Tado
This might be a lengthy review but hopefully will provide an insight into my less than successful experience. I took some time looking at reviews of various smart heating systems before deciding on Tado. I spent £420 on 1 smart radiator starter kit, 1 smart thermostat and 3 smart radiator valves after consulting with Tado on the best setup for my home and required usage. I retained the hot water control via my existing programmer so didn’t need the extension kit. The items are packaged in a style and branding not dissimilar to that of Apple and although are of a plastic finish seem reasonably robust. The online registration and system installation was easy and intuitive, and having a technical background I found it straightforward. I set up three zones, a living room with the smart thermostat and two smart radiator valves as recommended by Tado, a family room with 2 smart radiator valves on both radiators and 1 bedroom with a smart radiator valve. I didn’t want to invest in any more kit until I was sure that it did what Tado said it would. Connection of the internet bridge and pairing of all the components was uncomplicated as was fitting the valves, only two needed the included adapters, (on Danfoss valves.) I set the system up initially on the web interface and then downloaded the Tado App on to my iPhone. Programming the zones for different times and temperatures was simple to do either via the web interface or on the app. So with everything programmed we woke up to a cold house the next morning. The boiler had only fired for a short period. The schedule was set to warm the bedroom and family rooms before the living room which isn’t used until afternoon. Manually starting the living room by increasing the set temperature above the actual recorded temperature then enabled the other zones to warm up in line with the set-point temperatures. Thinking this might have been a one-off I left it but it did the same the next day, cold house in the morning. So it appears that the zone with the smart room thermostat in must be calling for heat before any other zone even though their smart radiator valves are calling for heat. And this is where it all goes downhill with Tado support. I tried throughout the day to call but was unable to get through, just a recording that all agents are busy and to try later (or leave a message.) So I emailed asking for help, and got a response saying that they had made changes to my system (I have no idea what, they didn’t say – and I couldn’t see any changes) to prevent the boiler short firing and not reaching full temperature on first starting and to let them know if it didn’t work. It didn’t so I replied by email but heard no more. I tried ringing but just got the same recorded message. However, they sent me a satisfaction request in dealing with the problem even though they hadn’t and still haven’t fixed it – unbelievable. I now have a response saying they are still dealing with the request for help which will take a few days more. This is not good enough Tado – I’m a new customer that's spent £420 with a zone configuration that you recommended and it doesn’t work. Once the system does decide to start up then generally it works fine during the day although there are noticeable variations in the room temperatures before the system turns on the heating again so you can feel the temperature drop and then increase, i.e it doesn't maintain a comfortable constant temperature. You also need to check the actual room temperature with a separate thermometer against the Tado set point temperatures and then adjust the offset on which ever device is set to monitor the room temperature. I haven’t tried the Geolocation feature yet or the relationship with Apple Homekit as I’d just like to get it working. So in summary, installation set up, programming and control in principle, very good. Functionality not so good Problem resolution and support poor. Tado if you read this I’d like a resolution please (i.d. 426017) so I can return all the items to Amazon for a refund within 30 days if you can’t fix this for me. EDIT- UPDATE. Tado have now fixed the problem remotely. I have therefore revised my rating.

Beware - V2 delivered not V3 as specified above but that aside this is a great product
Opened the box to find a V2 and not a V3 as advertised. I had to go online and apply for the V3 upgrade (this is a free upgrade). The main difference is the V2 does not integrate with Apple HomeKit. I will need to swap out the wireless bridge when the V3 one arrives from Tado. That said, I installed the bridge and 5 radiator controllers in 30 minutes. It was an absolute breeze. The instructions within the Tado app are very intuitive and everything worked first time. I added my wife to the account and a quick download on her phone and now we both have full control over the heating in each room in our house. The valves look good and are very quiet when the operate. I have ordered valves for the rest of the rooms in the house and also ordered the extension kit to control the hot water remotely. I will update the review when I receive the V3 bridge and integrate into HomeKit
