The Growing Up Book for Boys

This book is great for introducing and discussing important topics that might be a bit sensitive, or awkward, or embarrassing to talk about. Topics are approached sensitively, language is clear and unambiguous, and illustrations are helpful and relevant. If you have a special-needs child and want to have a bit of help explaining things, this is the perfect book. I’m so glad I bought it.

I bought this for my teen grandson who has Aspergers. I wasn't too sure that he'd actually read it - teens being teens - "Oh, you're so embarrassssiiiiing!" However, he did. Took it into his bedroom and read it all. He said he was very grateful for it. Kids don't want to ask, initially, about 'you know what' etc, but this will help.

Excellent book

Bought for my god son who is on the autistic spectrum but equally suitable for a range of different children.

Bought for a 10 year old who was worrying about growing up. Great book which covers the topics in just enough detail for now. Would recommend.

We found this book extremely helpful for 10 year old and I'm so happy he enjoys reading it and giggles at all the naked pictures so glad I got it. It has also has opened up discussions about puberty in a fun way rather than a serious embarrassing subject.

Such a great book for, what I found, a tricky subject to broach with my sensitive autistic 10 year old son. It discusses what’s needed in a very clear, direct manner and leaves out the trickier ‘birds and bees’ stuff. There’s a lovely bit about being autistic and how they may differ to others, but how perfect they are anyway. It’s a touching end to a great book. So glad I choose this one over a few others I looked at. It’s also very well illustrated.

Wow it very good book . My son 13 he autistic. The book is exsplaunes how there body changes. What to do . Would highly recommend this book .

Very helpful to open up the discussion with my autistic 10 year old.

We were very pleased with the format of this book. My son was very interested and actually opened up about his change and whay he is feeling. This is very hard for him to do because of his Autism . I recommend thus book for all boys going through puberty and parents trying to speak on the matter without vulgarity in it.

Great book for answering questions to do with the boys and their body changes as they grow up. Its clear and to the point.

Great book

Great book. There are drawn pictures of body parts which some might have a problem with, but the context is excellent. Great information, organized in an accessible way.
