BIBURY Multitools, Camping Multi Tool Foldable Pliers with Scissors & Flint

I really wanted to like this: cracking set of tools and a good price. Good points are the tool selection; the 'external tools' (very good combo blade, nice file though not three sided but does have an excellent diamond coating, very aggressive saw and good scissors; all easy to both extract and lock). Internal tools are well selected (good can opener). The hammer add on is clever and the driver slot for 1/4 inch bits is clever and a glassbreaker may well be useful. And a whistle and ferro rod? Why not. Bad points? The glass breaker makes the hammer end uncomfortable to use and I could live with that if it wasn't for the internal tools: QC allowed this to leave the factory with internet tools so tight they are unusable. I've lubed them and adjusted them but - if I can't fix the problem - I'll have to return it. Pity. So close... EDIT I want to report some excellent customer handling by Bibury. Tey obviously read the comments on Amazon (always a good start) and we had a discussion about my issues. They offered me a 30% refund which was decent of them (without my asking for it I might add) and said they would look at the tight tools situation for future use. I used the money to order a second Torx bit which enabled me to loosen up the tool to my satisfaction, so that all worked out well. A couple of things to note. Firstly, it's good to get a quick response from a company like this. I own at least four other Bibury tools that I've bought from various sources (including Amazon) and I've always been pleased with the build quality, espcially for the price: you are paying les than half of a (for example) leatherman product but getting far more than half the quality, so that's good. Secondly, the tool is obviously designed to compete with the Leatherman Signal: hammer end, ferrorod, combi blade etc, and it suffers from the same problem as the Signal does: a hole for a right angled 1/4 inch bit driver but no retention system. I've seen users jame a piece of thread in their for retention but that didn't appeal. So I used the rest of the 30% back from Bibury to buy a pack of small neodemium magnets. As you can see frm the photos, a pair are held in with UV resin (any other glue would do) and I now get proper bit retention. I'd do the same if i had a Leatherman Signal but I have tool with both a file and scissors and it cost me less than half. A win! Well done Bibury. I have adjusted the star rating up from 3 to 5 accordingly

First off this is a quality multitool which really delivers for the price compared to the product upon which it is clearly based. I own a number of other similar tools including Leathermans and this is of a similar quality. There will be those that say it’s not, but remember this is about a third the cost or less depending on the deal you bag. To the tool itself, both the saw and the partially serrated blade, the very good scissors and decent file lock satisfyingly and reassuringly and are all accessed whilst the tool is closed. The other tools are accessed from the inside and also lock. The file is crosscut on one side and a sort of diamond coating on the other, there is no cross-cutting on the long thin edge. The improvised hammer edge which sits on the end of the tool has a small glass breaker and incorporates a side-on hex bit holder. There are no bits included and the bit holder allows any bits to fall out, a minor gripe. Also the hammer edge is ‘plastic’ and wouldn’t stand up to any hard use in my opinion. The striker/whistle work ok but would only ever be a back up. As I said these are minor gripes but render this end of the tool somewhat ineffective. The rest of the tool more than makes up for it in my view, at least for the price you are paying. Hence my five stars. The tool comes fitted with a pocket clip, this works fine. If you chose to use the supplied nylon case, be aware it’s a tight fit and the tools clip annoyingly catches on the press stud when you take it in/out. You can remove the tools clip if you chose to. Another very minor negative when considered as a whole. Overall this is a really impressive tool which you’ll be glad is in/on your pocket when required. If you want a Leatherman but don’t want to pay the money then this is your very best bet. You will not be disappointed, and you’ll save yourself a ton. Good effort Bilbury.

I've had (and still have) many Gerber and Leatherman multitools, but wanted a cheaper mutlitool to pack into an emergency kit that i was putting together, so the flint/ steel striker was what really appealed on this tool. To be honest the quality appears very good, has a good grip and is well sized for your hand, and appears to be surprisingly good quality for the price. However this weekend i did find a slight flaw with it, it doesnt have a crosshead screwdriver blade, and the flat blade, that could work, is generally too large for most normal sized screws. Its probably about 8mm wide, whereas about 4-5mm would be more useful. The next sized screwdriver down, is then much too small.... its truely a goldilocks paradox!

Good tool! Lots of uses and great value for money. Used in both construction and destruction purposes. Blades are sharp. Build feels sturdy.

I have always bought leatherman and SOG multitools because of quality issues with cheap knock offs, and to be fair this is not quite 100% as good as a leathermanfor example HOWEVER this tool about 98% as good ( I am not kidding its really good) and is less than a third of the price. The quality is superb for the money - they could charge at least double and you would not blink. Also these "copies" are not copies anymore - the tool sets and features are not direct copies of others but actually have different selections which to be honest many have asked for from the big comapnies but you never get on one tool.I can buy 3 of these and have a them in my kit bags and car kit for example for the same money as just one leatherman. I cannot see a down side to this for the buyer only leatherman shareholders!

Positives: Looks and feels better, good scissors, double file, hammer and window breaker, detachable firestarter rod. Can opener that actually works. All good but... Negatives: knife and saw are smaller and feel less robust, no swappable screwdriver bits (mega issue for me), need to open pliers to access some tools that are then hampered by the hammer. Rubbish whistle, in a stressful situation I could pass wind much louder. So, it isn't an upgrade it's a change in emphasis. For weekend camping & outdoor trips get this tool. For DIY, building jobs, ladder work etc when you need a tool that's elsewhere, the former version is much, much better. The old tool is better value for money (30 percent cheaper) and a real everyday carry for serious work, this I'll take camping. Finally, both are great high quality additions to your tool collection and I'd take them over an overpriced leatherman any day. You'll eventually misplace these tools but not wear them out. Only 3 stars as I think calling it an upgrade is misleading. Harsh but I think fair as it's uses are very different.

Great tool at a great value. Smooth action, handy for all wee jobs and the saw tool cuts timber like butter Just be careful with the locking knife blade in the UK, the police can’t tell the difference between a work tool being used for purpose and a weapon of mass destruction

Appears to be a sturdy versatile tool. I used it once and almost immediately found an issue where the scissors wouldnt work properly (they wouldn’t spring back). BIBURY were able to review a picture and tell me that they weren’t locked into position which was why. This resolved the issue and I just have to press it quite hard to lock it. Thank you BIBURY for your quick helpful response. I’ve been using it for a couple of days now and have found it a brilliant replacement for my old Gerber (which I lost after 15 years faithful service). It’s a bit bigger and feels sturdy. Here’s hoping!

Excelentes pinzas multi herramientas, desde que abres la caja se ve la calidad. El acero es de buena calidad, el peso de la herramienta se siente fuerte, se ve muy resistente, el tamaño de la pinza es muy bueno (no es chica), el estuche que trae para ponerla en el cinturón también se percibe de calidad y resistente. Las usare este fin de semana en una camping, por eso las compre. Recomiendo el producto, gracias

Es la segunda de esta marca que compro y super contento, no tienen nada que envidiar a otras marcas muchísimos más caras (lederm....), hay compañeros que la tienen y creo que ésta tiene mejores materiales. No lo dudéis.

Super. Beim testen direkt eine tiefe Fleischwunde zugelegt. So will ich das. Kommt sehr scharf an und hat wirklich nur nützliche Werkzeuge, ist auch relativ handlich und der Stahl scheint eine hohe Qualität zu haben. Nur ein paar der Werkzeuge in Rücken der Zangenfachs sind schwierig rauszuholen, aber ist sonst einfach klasse. Feurstahl und Glasbrecher funktionieren auch gut. Immer wieder gerne, selbst mein Schweizer Taschenmesser und das SK Wild Ones welches ich besitze haben keine so gute Qualität. Und diesed Multi Tool ist auch noch billiger.

A diversi mesi dall'acquisto non presenta segni di ruggine come accade su prodotti scadenti, l'acciaio delle lame al momento mantiene bene l'affilatura, tutto come da aspettative. L'unico neo che ho trovato è nel meccanismo di blocco della lama seghettata, la lama va leggermente forzata in direzione di apertura per dare modo al blocco di scattare in posizione e fare il suo lavoro, tutti gli altri blocchi funzionano bene. In conclusione, questo utensile non sarà rifinito come quelli di marchi più blasonati come leatherman o victorinox, ma la qualità si avvicina molto, mantenendo un prezzo notevolmente piu basso.

Build quality, fit and finish are amazing. Not what you'd expect for the price. I've owned quite a few multitools from different brands, including most famous ones, and this one has comparable quality (better than some much more expensive tools) at only a fraction of a price! All tools in this one are not too tight and not too loose. There are no sharp edges where they shouldn't be sharp, meanwhile the knife and scissors (and smaller screwdriver too, in fact) are very sharp. Scissors are surprisingly great, I've never had scissors that good in a multitool and I didn't expect an inexpensive tool would have such a well made scissors. The case feels like an afterthought - it's too tight and it's very hard to close it, but the tool has a clip, so if you carry the tool with you you don't really need the case. The ferrocerium rod feels well made and usable, even though I haven't really try using it. The whistle works, but as others mentioned it's not very loud because of the small size. Still better than nothing when you need a whistle. The bit holder built into the glass breaker is usable and well made: you can use regular bits or double-sided bits with a spring-loaded ball, and they don't fall through (you don't have to hold the bits with your finger, one of the sides has a smaller opening than the other, so the bit stays in place when you're using it). It's a medium-sized tool which should fit well in a pocket, and is not too heavy. Packaging is very well made too. All in all, this multitool can make a wonderful gift, or just make you happy if you like tools and are buying one for yourself.
