Great little language guide and dictionary.
As a fledgling student of Ukrainian, I went to Collins first for an English-Ukrainian dictionary, only to be sadly let down by its lack of phonetics for the Ukrainian words. No such problem with Lonely Planet. Their book is excellent - filled with useful phrases and information- most importantly to an English speaker: phonetically spelled in brackets, so that you can work out pronunciation without the benefit of a native speaker to teach. Highly recommended as a learning/travelling resource book.

Everything I needed
I'm 101 days into my Duolingo course and wish I'd had this book 3 months ago. It explains grammar and concepts clearly, has clear sections and easy reference sections for new words & phrases as well as clear pronunciation guide that even shows where to place emphasis. It's perfect - almost. It's designed to be pocket-sized & therefore I struggle with the font size

Packed with help and supremely portable.
Amazing amount of stuff packed into this book, and beautifully printed. I hope, when the war in Ukraine is over, to visit Kyiv and Odessa and try out the Ukrainian I have learned from this little book. Don't be scared of their alphabet. You won't need to write anything written in it.

Superb book !
This is an absolute must-have in your library if you want to learn Ukrainian ! Incredibly well-researched and meticulous in the explanation of the various language structures. For the pocket size,the amount of useful information within it,and the price of £4.99,you would be foolish not to include it in your Ukrainian language library !
