Yes, clock is supplied with 1 x battery. As per product description. And should last about 12 months.

Does it come with guarantee?

12 month warranty. also my clock has been running for about a year now on the original supplied battery and is fine.

Is the chime quarterly, hourly or both ?

Chime every quarter hour, single set of chime for 15 minutes past the hour, 2 x set of chimes for 30 minutes, 3 sets for 45 minutes past and 4 x set on the hour, followed by the numerical single chimes to indicate the hour, eg. 9 x strikes for 9 o'clock. We are very pleased with the clock and even in the middle of the night find the chimes gentle enough not to disturb anyone who is asleep. The choice of two different chimes makes the clock even better. We fully recommend it!
