The ones I received were new Milwaukee batteries in sealed packages. Thankfully they charge and work great. Thought I was going to have to pay more at a Home Depot store to be sure it was new and sealed but they are exactly what I needed and wanted.

Genuine Milwaukee 2.5Ah battery for my M12 impact driver and other tools at a price to beat.Milwaukee now also make 3.0A and 4.0A batteries for their M12 power tool line-up.- Pros of a larger capacity battery - longer service life- Cons: bulk and weight.The opposite is true with the smaller 2.0A and this 2.5A batteries, but the biggest positive aspect of a 2.5A battery is that it keeps the tool profile slim and makes it easier to manage while using the tool and still provides enough power to last. More so, the slim profile allows the tool to be easily tucked away in a tool bag with the battery in place witgout snagging on other tools.Some may argue that the larger capacity batteries are better, of course, because of increased longetivity, but if that's the case, then go for the more powerful M18 system altogether.
