A pleasant, though not inexpensive, surprise that works well
I had great trepidation before deciding on which camera system to use for the house. I've previously had issues with WiFi sensitivity on an internal IP camera. On reviewing the market, the cameras appeared bulky and they required wiring to the place they were installed. In our house, there were also issues with a wired system where we couldn't have proximity to the router. The Arlo Pro system seemed to meet our needs, but it also appeared too good to be true - no wiring, local storage, free cloud storage. I felt there would be issues with setting it up, and of connectivity and sheer practicality. There was also the cost - twice that, at least - of the wired system that had been recommended to me. I decided to try it, on the grounds I could return it to Amazon if there were problems. In the event, the Arlo Pro plus 3 cameras arrived next day, using Prime. I was still hesitant and waited a day before opening the box. (grief, I've worked in IT since the 1960s so shouldn't be so cautious, but I've seen so many duds in the past). Upshot is that I think the system is superb. I haven't yet had time to test the longevity of the batteries, but everything else works really well and was super easy to set up. The Arlo base unit connects to the Sky Q router by ethernet cable. The signal goes to the bottom of the garden, some 60 feet - beyond the ability of the camera to detect movement at the house, unfortunately, so I couldn't place a camera there. The awesome thing about the cameras is that the location where they are to be installed doesn't need to be guessed. A camera can be held in position while viewing the iPhone app to judge suitability. The magnetic base is held in position by a single screw, and is removable by sliding it. One can have several locations for a camera, depending on need, and the camera can be moved between them as necessary. The ease of removing the camera base means they can be vulnerable, so they do need to be placed out of easy reach. I had concerns too about the magnetic base, but the strength is such that those were quickly satisfied. The main concern finally, was how to locate the third camera at the rear of the house. It had to face the house and take in a side access. That meant it should be at low level and therefore vulnerable. We finally converted a fancy bird feeder, with the camera concealed inside, and placed it in an unobtrusive location. It works beautifully. Update: only problem is the birds occasionally set the camera off as they try to land in the bird house it occupies. I don't use sound detection, but the motion detection is very responsive while not being overly so. The app, and the browser access, are very good. I did have some issues as my computer is an iMac and, at first the Safari browser would not use the Flash functionality that is required. However, a tweak of the Properties of the browser fixed that, albeit not until after a few concerned moments. I really didn't want to use Chrome for that purpose alone. So, in summary, yes, it is a lot of money, but the product is real quality, easy to set up and seemingly foolproof. Time will tell how effective it will be. At present I really recommend it. Update. I installed the cameras on 22 August and they have been used since then. One is permanently on and I recharged the battery when it reached 37% after 7 weeks. I call that very acceptable. The other two are on overnight and when we leave the house, so maybe half of each day. After the 7 weeks, one is 68% and the other is 50% of battery. The one with the currently higher charge was installed some time after the other two, hence the disparity. We have 24Mbps broadband and have no connectivity problems at all, no drop-outs. The cameras are placed at heights that would require a ladder to reach, so a casual passerby could not remove them. To recharge the battery took less than two hours. I'm still really pleased with these cameras.

Happy customer
It’s simple to register & connect your cameras to the base station.Picture quality is good & also night vision.Don't know about how long battery last for because I’ve only put them up for 2 days time will tell. You can switch them off when your home to save battery life but when there on they only activate when movement detected.Great little camera so you can hide these in small places. They also work with echo show so I can view outside from my lounge .They are expensive to buy but for free 7 day iCloud is not bad but there is a option to save your recording to a memory stick .Magnetic bracket come with this but I’ve only used one because there really not flexible with the angle I wanted.Had to buy additional brackets also on Amazon.Great piece of kit definitely recommend .

Review after 6 months....
I am reviewing this after approx 5 or 6 months installation and use. Prior to buying a did a bit research on these products and chose Arlo for the following reasons: Wireless; Very long recharageble battery life; and no ongoing subscription charge. Installation is quick easy. I have 2 cameras to the front and 1 covering the rear. The app allows lots of configuration options to manage set up, triggers and recording/alarm. The alarm is loud which is also very good. None of my cameras are particularly far away from the base unit: 2m; 8m and approx 12m. Arlo apparently has a huge range but even on 12m it's down to 2 out of 3 bars for 2 WiFi connection. This is only through one external modern brick wall and one internal plasterboard wall with no big electronic devices in-between . If your installing further please read other reviews of people doing this. Despite being hammered by various weathers the cameras have stood up well. No leaks so far. Reassuring to know as they are not cheap. One thing I found out quickly is these cameras cannot be put behind a double glazed window. The motion will not trigger through the glass so if that's your intention keep reading for a possible solution.... One way to do this is have two cameras set up covering an area and add rules so that when CamA is triggered it records on CamA but also records on CamB. Perhaps useful for covering an entire driveway with the external camera and the internal one behind the glass is a more close up recording of a door. Recording isn't perfect... I sometimes find the camera slow to "kick in" and begin recording. Despite various changes of angle and limiting the area covered it generally misses the first few seconds. Get the occasional blocky recording too. Pixelated, not great for security really. The upload to the cloud storage works well for me. The alerts via email and app seem pretty quick too. Battery... This is why a two star review. On first setup my rear camera lasted around 3 month. After a full charge the next run only lasted 2 months. Now I am lucky to get 1 month. It's not the camera or battery as I have swapped these around with front cameras which last 3 mths. The recordings are very rare at the back garden so it's not continued triggering and data Xfer so it's now needing charged every month fit little activity. Getting a ladder, taking down if the wall mount, charging, putting back up again so frequently will only get more irritating. The wireless / battery length was the major reason for purchasing but at the moment it's proving a pain. Yes I could try moving the camera position but the location wasn't chosen randomly, it was chosen as the best area of coverage for this space and other positions would have compromises. Also as said it's on 12m away. If I didn't have issues with the rear camera it would be 3.5 stars, maybe 4

Great, a few niggles, need also to buy a charger.
I bought the three camera Pro pack initially. Then I added on a Pro 2. My first niggle are the UK prices. I bought the Pro 2 camera from Amazon US, and with import duties and post from US it was still substantially cheaper than in the UK. Same with everything else Arlo sell- that isn't right Netgear/ Arlo (they just span it off into its own company it's making so much). Anyway aside from the price it's really good. It links easily. The cameras will connect about 40 feet from the base station through brick walls. It works pretty flawlessly save for the niggles listed below. Despite Youtube footage showing image quality between Pro and Pro 2 to be similar, in real life the Pro 2 is quite a bit clearer and also has clearer night vision. I'd probably only buy Pro 2 now having tried both, albeit battery life is less on Pro 2. 1. Buy the overpriced external charger. Charging the battery in camera does not fully charge the battery by about 20% due to circuitry designed to protect the battery and camera. If you get the external charger you get that extra 20% to fully charge the battery. It makes a big difference. 2. On the battery I cannot get anything like reported life, even when using the charger. I get about 2 weeks in high traffic areas (30-60 triggers a day) and 8 weeks in low traffic areas. When charging in camera reduce by 20% 3. I have 40 meg internet and whenever I try the live chat, it causes the camera to stutter and break up. I gave up on the speak over camera feature. 4. Setting rules can be confusing and some of the settings are not always intuitive. Web and app interfaces could do with refinement and bugs ironing out. 5. Sometimes it will go slow on Arlo's servers, rarely though. 6. Buggy firmware updates should not be released. Last one caused (when you switched a camera off) the infra red LEDs to continuously light up at night, thus draining 10% per hour of battery. I worked out what was happening and switched the camera back on and instead set a rule where it was ignored instead of switching it off. Luckily Arlo corrected the bug pretty quickly, but fact it got through indicates not enough testing. Highly recommended, despite the above gripes. It's great to have my entire house covered. Whilst I've never set it off, the ability to trigger a 100 decibel alarm is also good. UPDATE 3 months on- still great. I used it on holiday recently a lot. In fact as soon as I got to the airport I looked and it had all gone offline. Was anxious it had gone wrong when I really needed it when away for 2 weeks. I rang my parents and sent them up. It wasn't Arlo- house power had tripped off, that's why cameras had gone off. Wow, Arlo just saved me £150 in defrosted food and a real mess. I find the delay between the camera triggering and the notification or live view sometimes a little long- sometimes you can go on live view and it's about a minute before! This is Arlo's servers running slow. Another niggle, but the product is still the best option. If you are thinking of jumping in, I'd suggest maybe sooner rather than later. Arlo just did it's IPO and investors are chomping at the bit to see more revenue from 'services'. At the moment Arlo offer free cloud storage for life. I can forsee them stopping this one day to satisfy investor's demand for increase services income. The cameras might come down in price a bit if they do, but I doubt it. They'd legally have to honour the free cloud storage for anyone whose bought on that basis, it will be just from that point on. Just speculation, but I read an investment article on it. The free cloud storage for life is an amazing benefit when you consider how much Nest charge, but is it sustainable for ever for all buyers going forward? There's also a security light you can co-ordinate and they've just announced a doorbell. The doorbell has no camera but alerts you and triggers your camera you may have pointing at your door. I'll likely be investing in this when released as it will run for about a year on batteries.

Excellent and works with fire tv and echo dot.
So easy to install and works perfectly with Fire tv stick and echo dot. I installed the arlo cameras today. Enabled the Arlo skill in the alexa app and followed the link procedure in the alexa app. Everything worked first time. I asked alexa on the dot to show the camera - using it's name and the tv came on and connected to the camera. Alexa also had no problems flick to the camera when asked whilst watching TV. I've been running 3 cameras for a week. The set up was so easy. Simply plug in the hub and connect it to your router. Put the battery in each camera and follow the instruction in the app. I've got one camera watching the car, one watching the yard and one watching inside. I've got schedules set so they come on and go off when automatically, so I never have to remember to arm them. They whole system is just brilliant.

Good enough for occasional use but not a serious security camera
Positives: - nice to have cameras without wires or dvr box. - Decent picture in daylight and ok in low light. - Handy to access live video as well as recordings on mobile when away. - 2 way sound. - Build quality is good. Nice looking cameras. - Alexa compatibility. Negatives - video delay/lag of up to 5 seconds (I’m running fibre broadband 80mb/s - really wouldn’t bother with these unless you have the network speeds). - battery life is very short in high trAffic areas - motion detection is sluggish: if someone is moving at slow to average speed it will record fine but you could run past the sensor and be out of the camera’s sight before it even starts recording. - not great connectivity with echo spot. Alexa often can’t get the camera to respond. Whether this is an Echo issue or an Arlo issue, I don’t know. - when netgear’s servers are down for repair you loose all functionality. - A bit expensive for the performance. Would I buy again? Probably not. I’m considering sellymy Arlo set up and going back to wired Swann system. For home/occassional use, this might be fine. For even a small business like mine, when reliability of security really is important, I don’t think Arlo is up to the job.

Working Well
Bought over a year ago I have subsequently added two Arlo Pro 2 cameras and overall am very pleased with the performance. Easy to set up and my only minor gripe is that if the internet goes down they the system goes down. I have bought from Amazon two Reolink Argus 2 cameras and an Argus Pro camera which function without the internet but can be viewed Worldwide using the IOS app.

good system but be careful, impossible to contact support
after installing this system back in July it has worked fine but now all of a sudden this week accessorises purchased at the same time have stopped working, they have changed the software to stop any accessories working, at no point were we told that the accessories sold on the arlo accessories page on amazon are not compatible. Its really distasteful to do this months after having purchased the items knowing that you cannot now return these items and you are being forced by arlo to purchase their own, now available, accessories, which were not available at the time I purchased ours. system is good but this approach to stopping accessories working is unacceptable.

Si estás indeciso , no te arrepentirás,

Insgesamt also kein Grund einen Stern abzuziehen.

Bezgl 90 grad Drehung soll bald was kommen .
