Gulabi Tea 500g

I bought this with hope of having a strong flavor and taste and color as opposed to teabags. I got disappointed it's totally like a regular teabag. you have to put twice as a good tea to come up with the same color, and at the end it doesn't taste like tea.

The Gulabi Barooti tea arrived well. I like the Gulabi Kalmi. The Barooti is finer cut and was not as strong as the Kalmi. In the future, I will make sure it is Kalmi before ordering.

The Barooti Gulabi is a nice strong black tea. The flavor is robust but not bitter. As others have explained, the tea leaves are cut small and expand quite a bit once they are steeped in a tea pot. Some people who enjoy a less strong tea would be advised to use only two teaspoons in a two quart tea pot, but I use four because I like more flavor, though sweetened and whitened with half and half. Delicious! "Baroot" means "gunpowder" in Persia, and the BOP-sized tea is sold as "Barooti" meaning like gunpowder. "Gulabi" is a Persian word meaning "rose water." So Barooti Gulabi is like rose water, a sweet tasting tea, that will combust your natural spirit like gunpowder!

This tea is sold at a local market so i thought i would buy some. It is quite good. it brews very fast compaired to the Sadaf tea that i bought. Its a very pleasant Indian tea. the smell is quite pleasant. I ended up using 3 teaspoons for 2 quarts of tea so just a little bit of this tea goes a long way. Next time i will use 2 teaspoons instead.
