Hi Marcus, no these can be used on any coloured shoes as they are not dyed in anyway. I hope this helps 

can these be used on patent leather

I wouldn’t of thought so as they are damp and the other side of the wipe is like little rubber dots for more stubborn stains it may damage or leave them smuggled water marks.? I use them on white leather trainers so it don’t show but removes marks sorry hope this helps
