...and are the instructions inside etc. is the book lined or plain?

I can also confirm yes the rules are written inside and the paper is lined. But if I were you, don't make the deal for the Shinigami eyes, you just end up seeing everything in a red tint all the time and spec-savers will claim you're delusional and then the staff there will probably all die of heart attacks and you're just sat there trying to figure out the difference between a red and blue pen....

Does this work? Asking for a friend.

sure, tell me your friend's name i'll show you how it works!

is the writing in English

Yes its mainly all in English. On some of the pages however, there is some Japanese writing for effect to make it seem more authentic.

does it include the fake rules in the back of the book?

The book contains all rules as a foreword before giving blank(ish!) pages for you to put the names into the notebook
