TECHGEAR Screen Protector for iPad 6, iPad Air 2- GLASS Edition Genuine Tempered Glass Screen Protector Guard Cover Compatible with Apple iPad 6th Gen

I have just fitted two of these on my parents new Air 2 iPads, and I'm delighted with my choice. After exhaustively trawling the numerous reviews of alternative products, I chose the TechGear model as it repositionable, so if the first fitting attempt is a little skewed you can carefully lift it and try again. I have fitted similar tempered glass screen protectors to my iPhone and also my Canon camera LCD screen, so I knew I wanted something similar. I am uploading photos to show the package contents, the fitting process and applied screen so you can see the depth of the glass at the edge of the iPad and around the start button. The fitting process was fairly straightforward, though definitely easier when I came to fit the second screen. The instructions are very clear; first I cleaned the screen using the included microfibre cloth. I didn't need to use the included wet wipe as I was fitting the screens to the freshly unboxed iPads, so there were no sticky fingerprints to remove. The static adhesive side of the screen has a clear removable film cover and it helps to have a trial run placing the screen on the iPad and attach the lifting labels to the front of the glass screen, prior to removing this protective film. Initially the labels were not very helpful as they tended to unpeel under the weight of lifting the screen, however they held much better if two thirds of the label was stuck to the screen with one third as the handle. Carefully holding the screen vertically by its edges and with the bottom edge resting on my desk, I peeled off the film from top to bottom. I needed to give the iPad screen a final dust at this point, and then used the label tabs to line up the screen and lower it into position. You can see the static adhesion creeping across the glass until it is completely attached, and you can encourage any bubbles to the edges by carefully stroking the screen as it adheres. Although you can't bend the screen it does have a little flex so I was able to insert a fingernail carefully under one edge, applying gentle, sustained pressure to gradually release and reposition the screen more accurately. It took me about 20 minutes to fit the two screens and was remarkable trouble-free, bubble-free process. Highly recommended!

This protector fit great, is perfectly clear, and easy to apply to the screen. The tempered glass really gives the feel of true protection, which was a must for me as I use hard tip styluses which typically scratch iPad screens within minutes. Included with the protector (which itself was stored in safety foam sheet stuff, within a very quality feeling cardboard book thing) was a isopropanol screen wipe for use before applying the protector, two sticky tabs to move the protector around without having to touch it, a sticky pad to pick up any larger pieces of dust from the screen or the adhesive side of the protector, and a glass cleaning cloth, which I find is always handy to have to wipe the screen. There was also a pair of black and white home button raising stickers, which was a nice gesture to compensate for the thickness added to the screen, although i did not use them as I have the touchID home button on my Air 2. Previously I have happily paid three times the cost of this for a similar tempered glass protector that came wth far fewer bits and pieces to help you fit it. This is great value for money, and I would thoroughly recommend this for anybody with an iPad.

I have had this protector on my iPad screen for 3 years and it has been perfect. 2 days ago it had the ultimate test when I dropped the iPad and the screen protector did its job. Despite having a cover on the iPad the impact was such that the glass protector cracked but, most importantly my screen didn’t. I instantly ordered a new one. Unfortunately, the replacement cracked as I attempted to remove it from its packaging. I don’t know if this was my fault or a fault in the glass but I have now ordered a third! Hopefully this one will give as much service and protection as the first one! Despite the 2nd one cracking before fitting, I would still recommend it highly, based on the long service of the first one. Fingers crossed! Update: 2nd replacement is perfect! The best fitting and easiest to fit of all the screen protectors I have used. This one just seems to apply itself, it adheres without pressure and with no air bubbles at all.

Nice quality item, shame there is no squidgee to really get the last air bubbles out, only reason it lost a star.

As a result of a slight accident I found a need for a replacement screen protector, though it wouldn’t be from the same company as before. The package I received was a revelation in itself as here was a company that was serious about its product arriving in one piece. I’ve noticed several companies claim that theirs is the best tempered glass protector on the market and yet it’s behaved like a thin sheet of plastic that scratches easily. I am pleased to say that this is the best actual tempered glass screen protector bar none. The fitting instructions were very clear (no pun intended) and the fit of size and shape to my iPad Air 2, is the best I’ve yet encountered. After all’s said and done, it pays to protect the main screen, as it’s the main point of the tablet! The protector is so good in its build quality that it’s not noticeable once installed. Although fingerprints are the bane of touch-screens, they are far easier to deal with when the protector is of such high quality. I cannot recommend this screen protector highly enough.

I love these tempered glass screen protectors. I have use them for my various iPhones for years and would highly recommend them, which is why I decided to get one for the iPad. I have lost count of the number of times I've dropped my phone & having a heart-stopping moment of seeing a shattered screen only to discover to my utmost relief that it was only the screen protector. Peel that off and the screen is good as new. Another massive advantage is that they are so much easier to install compared to the plastic ones. It goes on like a dream without any annoying air bubbles. When installing this on my iPad, I found a speck of dust was caught inside (the horror!) but all I had to do was carefully lift the glass up, take off the speck of dust using the sticky provided & presto, perfect bubble-free screen. I'm never going back to plastic screen protectors.

Works beautifully, far better than thin plastic screen protectors. Very easy to fit. You clean the iPad glass screen using the IPA alcohol pad and microcloth supplied. Then position two of the self-adhesive handling strips to the outer face of the screen protector. This allows you to control exactly where the protector will sit. Then remove the protective film from the adhesive side of the protector, hover it over the iPad screen using the handling strips, and when in exactly the right position simply place the protector in place. 99% of trapped air simply melts away like magic. Any remaining bubbles can be smoother out with a credit card or similar. Finally, remove the outer protection film complete with handling strips. So simple to fit that I actually bought two. The protector has no effect at all on the sensitivity of the iPad touch screen and remains perfectly clear in use.

Easy to stick and protects the screen. Great value.

Magnet in lid too weak to hold up the Ipad in landscape orientation. Otherwise sturdy.

It works. Do not rush removing it if you see bubbles underneath. When I just put the glass there were several bubbles. I tried to move them toward the edge with no luck. So I just left it as it was. Next day almost all the bubbles were gone except one big. The ipad is used by kids so I do not see it often. After two-three weeks I looked at it and all bubbles disappeared.
