More Efficient Heating
I bought this radiator fan as my living room is huge and only has one radiator, so the heat doesn't fill the room effectively which means it often feels cold even with the heating on all day. This seemed like a perfect solution to heating the room more effectively and saving money on my gas bill. The fan is very easy to install, it simply sits on the top of the radiator and is held in place by magnets. The magnets hold it securely so there's no worry of it coming off at all. It then simply plugs into the mains via the thin cable that comes with it. The cable is long enough to stretch right across my room, but of course it is preferable to have a socket near the radiator, so that's something I would take into consideration if you're thinking of purchasing the fan. It took a while for me to figure out if the fan was working, as it only comes on when the radiator is warm enough, but soon enough I was able to hear it working. It makes a quiet whirring noise which is not loud enough to bother me in any way even when the room is otherwise in silence. I've found the fan really does work well at redirecting the heat around the room, and therefore heating the room fully, which I never achieved without it. The room now feels warmer when the heating is running and I am able to run the heating for much shorter periods of time to warm the room to a comfortable temperature, so I'm saving money on gas. The cost in electricity to run the fan is minimal and I am saving money overall. I'd highly recommend the Radfan to anyone wanting to heat a room more efficiently and save money on energy bills. I've been so impressed with it's effectiveness that I'm now thinking of purchasing another for use in my bedroom.

Works well but has its downsides.
Live in an old house, the master bedroom has a large bay window and the room always feels cold in comparison to the rest of the house. Decided to try this to see if I could get the heat circulating. The product is easy to install, fitting to the radiator securely in seconds, the awkward part is routing the power cable to a nearby plug socket. Once the heating is on, depending on how long the heat takes to reach your radiator will affect how long it takes for the Radfan to switch on, the heat reaches my radiator quickly so within 15 minutes the Radfan switches on and starts to work. I know it isn't winter yet but I can feel the difference with having this working, the chill has been taken from the room and it feels more comfortable. So downsides, as mentioned, this is in a bedroom so once the Radfan switches on you hear the fans whirring away, when it is very quiet they sound quite loud so if you are sensitive to noise the whirring can be annoying. The only other downside I have noticed is that when the radiator is heating up or cooling down the plastic body of the Radfan does the same, this causes a creaking sound which again can be annoying. All said, happy with the purchase, one star deducted due to the above reasons. UPDATE. The Radfan has been in use for a while now and the weather has certainly got colder. I really can feel the temperature difference in the room when the Radfan is running. To alleviate some of the noise due to it being in the bedroom I have plugged it into one of my Hive plugs and set it to turn on and off on timed settings so as it doesn’t hinder my sleep. Still recommend the product.

Tried Timed &Tested
I live in a 1908 single brick house with a bay window, which are cold, No insulated walls, other than the loft insulated, I had tracked the parcel to arrive at 1pm yesterday 2nd December, when I came down stairs the front living room being 10x10 in size registered 14.5 C very cold, I had the heating on from 9.15am to 1.15pm and No change in temperature, and the radiator was on full no 5, I have no choice as turning it down no heat will emit in to the room, The Radfan had arrived on time, So, I turned off the heating for 1 hour exactly at 1.15pm and popped on the fan on top of the rad, at 2.15pm turned on the heating and within 5mins I could hear it very slightly whirring, well, I’ll be honest in saying looking at it I thought, hmm what will this actually achieve in heat terms, bit of old toughened plastic with two small fans for £40 😳..Well I couldn’t believe it by 6.15pm four hours later my room temperature was 20C very warm and by 9pm it was 24C actually too hot, even though it seemed to take the 4 hours to reach the higher temp I really could feel a lovely warmth in the living room within a couple of hours, I’ve been here 2.5 years and it’s the warmest it’s ever been, very cosy and comfy...And this morning again temp was 14.5, heating on for 3 hours and up to 19C So, I reckon after a couple of times of the fans going it will get warmer quicker, I certainly would recommend a purchase but if you have a bigger space than mine it may well take longer to achieve the heat circulation, as for the noise it’s rarely noticeable and with the tv on nothing , and when the heating turns its self off for the temperature control the fans still keep going...One little tip if you turn the heating off keep the fans keep running so it will still throw out residual heat until the radiator goes cold completely... I would certainly recommend this product even if you have to fork out £40 it’s well worth it for your comfort on these cold evenings now....🤗

Good idea, slightly flawed.
I just received one of these, and I've noticed a couple of flaws. The first flaw is that it doesn't quite fit with the combination of the radiator and the window sill (the top of my radiator is a lot closer to the window sill than the radiator in the picture) and there's no adjustability at all. So it's half on the radiator and half on the window sill. The second flaw is that the only switch is the temperature sensor. I've taken it out of the box, plugged it in, placed it on top of an already warm radiator and nothing happens. I have no idea if I have a faulty unit, if I have installed it incorrectly and and temperature sensor needs to be closer to the radiator or if it will work once there's been a noticeable change in temperature. If there was an on/off/auto switch I would at least know that the fans work (and I would appreciate the extra control over the unit). Still, it seems like a good idea and I hope that it actually works.

Radfan, room heat improved
Excellent piece of kit, plug it in and it works by itself, comes on when the rad gets warm enough and directs warm air from the rad towards the lower part of the room (my dog lies on the floor in front of it where it is warmest for her), when the rad gets cool it turns off so is not blowing cold air around the room. It is virtually silent in operation, I can hear it in the night if I go downstairs but even then only just. It makes a big difference in our front room temperature which is 14'x13' and open plan, the heating is on noticeably less. I look at power and gas consumption regularly and keep a record, we have not seen any increase in electricity cost but have seen a drop in gas cost. The unit we brought will only fit a double rad and we don't have many in the house but we are putting a radfan in the kitchen though to see if it improves things in there near the back door. I also brought one for my daughter and she is as pleased as I am (and that's a miracle on it's own!). Derek

solid design - weak product probably 1.5 stars to be fair/honest
as a unit the unit is fine, the plastic is not cheap and is white enough to be white to blend in with most modern radiators, if you're pure white, this will look out of place quite badly. The magnet system is nice, and easy The adaptor and plug is simple and functional, although for this level of power I'd expect to have a usb option in 2019. The product itself is pretty bellow average, it's the worst of both worlds, the fans are very low power (as you'd expect) but the actual air they push is surprisingly low (I bought the smallest unit as a test due to the excessive price). The result of this is that you'd expect the fans to be silent, they are not, the provide an noticeable hum and chirp, far more than any low quality computer fan, let alone a silent computer fan. For the high price tag this product is (moulded plastic, 2 magnets and 2 fans) I'd have expected the fans to be high quality, push air and are silent, for this price I'd have accepted one or the other begrudgingly either moved air or was silent, it's neither, it's pretty much just low quality parts in a nice idea for an over the top price. I risked some money as an experiment, I won't be taking it further.

Brilliant
I have an old house with high ceilings and an old back boiler i purchased a cheaper version before rad fan came out i couldn't tell the difference with it on , so when radfans came on the market i purchased one and it seemed to help in the hall where the temp was at its worst and this was where the thermostat was so the boiler ran a lot, since the fan has been there it shuts down more often so i now have a radfan in every room they're nearly totally silent, nice to look at and very effective, my temperature is about two degrees less on the thermostat than before which is a good saving UPDATE I have now gone for the new slim system with a magnetic sensor thee are the one that go at the bottom of the radiator with the moveable sensor, one of which is being specially made for me by Simon and Roland so if anyone has an odd size they can always contact the guys with the specifications and they will do their best to help

Well thought out product, but not a miracle worker!
The device arrived well packed, with some simple instructions. The magnetic feet keep the device from moving around well, and the power supply seems good quality, with a reasonably long cable. The cable has a connector in the middle, which helps with routing it. I initially tried the fan in the kitchen, in the middle of a larger radiator. It was reasonably quiet, although I'd probably not want it in a bedroom. It did make a difference to how the room felt, you can't feel the heat like a fan heater would, but you can tell that the room feels more evenly spread around the room. The temperature sensor does a good job of turning the fan in and off as the heating starts and stops. I then moved it to a troublesome hall, where because of the positioning of the radiator, the heat moved up the stairs without warming the hallway. Here it has definitely made a difference, with much reduced cold spots. Only negative is that it feels like a lot of money for what it is. However I think it's been well thought out, and willing to pay for a good product well executed. I think it's usefulness will depend on your circumstances. Don't expect it to turn your radiator into something like a fan heater, that's not what this was designed for. What it does seem to do is use whatever heat you have in a better way and setup currents in the room that mean it's felt by you more than just heating up a windows or a ceiling. I'll consider buying a larger one for the kitchen after a few more weeks seeing if this one continues to be effective
