Would these be able to reduce from an L size ring to a J finger? (two sizes down)

There's various sizes, so I would think so. One of my rings was way too big and now fits perfect.

No it is not, that's why it is called 'Ring Size Adjuster'. It is if your ring is loose and to stop if from falling off your finger.

Can I use this on a gold Plated ring? Worried it might wear the plate off

These are softish plastic. I don't think they would scratch a properly plated ring.

Will this help make a size k ring into around a size j? Or is size k too small to use this

This ring size adjuster set has a good range of strips for all size rings, even if you are in between a size (imho) I feel you should be able to find a suitable adjuster. they are easy to cut to the size that you want. It takes some time to get used to wearing a ring with this little fitting, however you just need to persevere with it. I feel it is a good product with a good assortment choice.
