High Powered Woofer With Aramid Fibre Cone | 8" Driver, 8 Ohms, 500W , packaging may vary

One of the best "inexpensive" Audiophile replacement drivers on the DIY market, high standard of manufacture, strong lightweight Aramid cone, tone and power stabilty due to 2.4 Kilo magnet. I use them as replacements for Sub-drivers in JBL cabinets.

The weight came as a shock. These units have 1.1Kg magnets and are robust! rated at 250Wrms 500peak and are 8ohm units. I used them to replace perished 8in units in old AKAI enclosures with original tweeter and mid range and added some cross bracing to stiffen enclosures. The result is very satisfying boost to bass and increased clarity in mid range ...when the volume is increased. At low powers they seem a little insensitive or muddy so crank up the volume to get the best or use your equalization switch. The 4 mount holes on rim could do with being at least 6 or 8 to mount rigidly but there is sufficient rim to add extra mounting clips and rubber grommet supports. Very good value for money and would not hesitate to buy again.

I now have two of these speakers and I have been very impressed with how they sound. Using two-way crossovers, I've teamed them up with some tweeters and the set-up has been tested using a variety of music including electronic dance music, jazz and classical. The result is a sound that exceeded my expectations and is as good as that from some much more expensive B&W speakers I have. So, these speakers are good value, have a high power rating (250W RMS), and can handle bass signals down to 30Hz, as well as the lower mid-range frequencies. In other words, they can take on the role of woofer or sub-woofer. Thoroughly recommended.

Based on a previous review of the performance I bought a pair to add some bass to a very good audax mid-range. At the power levels I'm using (80W in a 4m x 5m room) it doesn't perform anywhere near as well as some new old stock 8" audax drivers I bought for the same price off eBay. To be fair this is clearly aimed at the car stereo market and for £20 delivered I shouldn't have expected more. It's a robust driver that feels as though it would stand up to being rattled about at high volumes. It's coming out of the baffle tomorrow to be replaced by vintage 15" drivers that will be arriving via eBay.

I bought two of these to refurbish some old RFT speakers. I managed to find some parameters for this speakers and calculated a bass port in WinISD and I have to say that I am blown away by how well they sound with nice, tight bass and clean vocals. I adjusted the crossover at around 3.5khz and they blend perfectly with the tweeters. It was a shot in the dark but they have exceeded my expectations. Very satisfied with them!

very heavy good price designed to fit from back had to alter . bought for bass guitar and a 250w amp doesn't handle a lot of bass cone bangs out when turned up .

Die Teile sind für den Preis top. Ich habe die alten Bässe gegen diese ausgetauscht da die alten zu wenig Leistung brachten. Alleine der gewaltige Magnet ließ mich beim auspacken erahnen was da raus kommt. Ich betreibe die Lautsprecher mit 2 x 200 Watt bei 8 Ohm (Behringer KM 750) und bei einer Lautstärke bei der man sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr hört schwingen die Bässe zwischen ein und zwei Zentimeter. Das reicht um einen Partyraum zu beschallen da kann sich keiner mehr unterhalten. Es geht aber noch lauter. Bis zu vier Zentimeter schwingung bei einem einwandfreien klaren Klang vertragen die Bässe. Einen Meter vor der Box kann ich mir die Haare fönen. Wenn man also die Teile mit einem passenden Verstärker mit genug Leistung befeuert kommt da anständig was raus. Wie es mit Dauerbelastung ausschaut kann ich derzeit nicht sagen weil ichs keine zwei Stunden mit der Lautstärke aushalte. Meine Räumlichkeiten sind einfach zu klein dafür. Auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.

Comprato per sostituire un vecchio modello Mclaren in carta che sarebbe stato da riconare, avendone due e solo uno da sostituire ho potuto anche confrontarli e devo ammettere che sono stupito dalla profondità dei bassi che riesce a raggiungere, è proprio corposo, lo consiglio spassionatamente, c'è da dire che non ha la sensibilità dichiarata secondo me perché a livelli di volume bassi si sente poco, ma chi è del campo sa che è il prezzo da pagare per un woofer da così poco. Comunque un ottimo prodotto!!

Una bestia di potenza per quello che costa ... ci suono minimal techno e spinge da dio...

Habe diesen Tieftöner, zusammen mit einem Subwoofermodul, in einen von einem Möbelschreiner gebauten TV-Schrank eingebaut, so dass der Tieftöner aus dem an der Wand hängenden Schrank nach unten abstrahlt. Vorteil: meine bessere Hälfte hat nichts über einen im Weg stehenden Subwoofer zu meckern, diese Lösung ist absolut unsichtbar. Nachteil: jetzt meckert sie, weil der Bass das ganze Haus zum Wackeln bringt. Der Klang ist schwer zu bewerten, da der Tieftöner nur bis ca. 100 Hz arbeitet. Bei entsprechendem Filmmaterial (Thriller, Action, Katastrophenfilme) lässt der Tiefbass aber keine Wünsche offen. Ich würde mir diesen Tieftöner wieder kaufen.
