Great quality and detail but not the improvement that I was looking for compared to my Sony MDR-7506
I ordered these headphones to try to improve to the lower base response and slight raised high frequencies of my current favorites which that I have used for around 5 years. These are the Sony MDR-7506 and were around £85 when I purchased them, they produce and exceptionally detailed soundscape which sounds open and airy and the vocals are exceptional (you can understand why these are reputed to be to goto general studio headphones for around 20 years). The Bass is detailed and you can discriminate every note. However the very low bass is lacking a little depth, and the very high end is emphasised. For this is the reason I decided to look for new headphones that could improve on these areas and was prepared to increase my budget, if needed, to around £200. I eventually tried out Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Yamaha MT5's, Adam H200, BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro 80 Ohm & DT770 Pro X 32 Ohm, before choosing the AKG K371 - see my reviews of each of these others, for my evaluation of their performance.. As to the BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro - I found their overall design to be good quality. The padding supported the weight well and they were comfortable on your ears. However I did find the earcups slightly large and cumbersome, however the adjustment available allowed a comfortable fit to be achieved. I could have accepted this if the design had provided the audio improvements that I was seeking. Another downside was that these were 80 Ohm impedance and my computer struggled to drive them, so less compatible with my equipment, but my HiFi, phone and portable player all coped ok. The straight 3m cable was a good length and plug adaptor was good quality. The materials used were typical of consumer headphones and seem well made. You would not expect exotic materials at this price. However for me the whole purchase depended on the sonic performance - could they improve on the Sony MDR-7506, in the lower bass depth and high frequencies, without sacrificing the parts that were excellent. These DT770's, were significantly more expensive that my current headphones but did not give me the improvement that I wanted. The overall sound was open and airy. It was very detailed and very versatile, preforming well over the wide range of test tracks that I had chosen. They had very similar performance to my Sony's. Good vocal balance, great detail, however the Sony still seemed to have something a little more special on some vocal performances. They had slightly more tamed high frequencies, but no noticable improvement to the low frequency performance. So overall very good headphones but more costly than the Sony's and but still missing some of the upgrade qualities that I require.

Excellent for PC use and playing guitar
Excellent pair of headphones. I’m using them for gaming and playing guitar through my audio interface. I originally bought the ATH m20x but quickly regretted it due to the lack of comfort and middling sound quality so I pulled the trigger on this. The durability and repairability seems excellent and the comfort is next level. The sound is also great with a v shaped profile. The treble does get a bit sharp some times which takes time to get used to but it’s fixable with an EQ. Really happy with my purchase and recommended.

Brilliant Clarity Despite Delivery Issues
I’ll admit I had a bit of a hassle with delivery when I first received these headphones and I wasn’t impressed at first. But I’m not letting that taint the rest of the experience because once I got these headphones in hand from their own website, the performance more than won me over. From the moment I plugged them in I was struck by just how clean and balanced the sound is. The bass is deep without being muddy, the mids are precise and the highs are clear and extended, perfect for when I’m mixing music, listening beats or just relaxing with some tunes. What really impresses is how comfortable they are. The over ear design and cushioned padding mean I can use them for hours without fatigue and eventually you just forget that they are even on your head. They feel solid and well built rather than flimsy and the closed back design does a good job at isolating outside noise, so I can stay fully immersed even in a busy environment. The 80 ohm impedance offers a sweet spot of clarity and volume without needing a dedicated amplifier if I’m just plugging into my laptop. Overall this has become my go to set of headphones. The quality, detail and comfort combine to deliver a top tier listening and mixing experience. Despite the rough delivery start the end result speaks for itself these are easily among the best headphones I’ve used.

These are great! With minor caveats..
I think the cable is way too long; this is done so that you can play it out of studio equipment and such but if you're looking for a pair of headphones on the move then this isn't ideal, and the 32 ohm version with the smaller cable supposedly just sounds a bit worse. The fact the cable isn't detachable is a shame as it could completely rectify that. Luckily you can just do that through modding (I sent mine to Custom Cans personally!). However these are great in sound quality! Extra bass and treble, but honestly I listen to a lot of rock and indie so that's great compared to my balanced sets (HD6XX and HD560s). They're also really comfortable although take a bit of time getting used to. The earcups provide alright noise isolation, not as good as XM3s or anything but still good; these are intended as more of an indoor set so that's not an issue. I really like these for games though; makes them sound great! The wire really gets in the way for me on console though, have to put a bit around the back of my neck so it doesn't get trampled. I really do recommend the detachable mods on this, it lets you put a custom microphone on as well that's way more wieldy. Just a class idea all round. You can't really go wrong though; they sound great, have decent isolation and are good for games. If you're weighing more in on music listening through an amp then this version or the 250 ohm one is great as the cable would actually service you there. Otherwise the 32 ohm version is better if you need more portability, although I've heard the sound quality is slightly worse. I really do recommend detachable cable mods for the best of both worlds, though.

At first impression I was scared cause the headphones sounded flat or som, yes I could hear each instrument separately, but the sound... There was no smooth hights or roughness above 6k as well, there were no deep low frequencies and sub... For a couple of hours I was carried away by work, so the headphones played for about three hours, I took a break and when i put themon again... THAT'S IT! Why did I buy these headphones, it was like a concert right on my head. As I understand it, the headphones need a little time to open up. Because right out of the box they sound worse than the marshalls. Also do not forget that the 80 Ohm version still requires an audio-Interface to fully reveal themself. For example: 80 Ohm plugged into a computer sound like 192 kbps and into an audio card like 320 kbps They will give u details even with a computer. But this sharpness, fullness of sound - only with a card Enjoy listening, folk!
