Product Description Ori. Release '01, UK edition of the country pop diva's 2001 album includes three bonus tracks, remixes of the first two hit singles, 'I Can't Fight the Moonlight' (Latino Mix) and 'I Need You' (Dave Aude Radio Edit), plus 'Soon' (Graham Stack Radio Edit). Review LeAnn Rimes--country music's answer to Britney Spears--moves further away from her roots with I Need You, following the worldwide success of the single "Can't Fight the Moonlight". Her last full length offering (LeAnn) was effectively a homage to her main influence, Patsy Cline, but I Need You is smartly produced mainstream pop of which "Can't Fight the Moonlight" is the standout. Several huge AOR ballads, like the title track, recall The Corrs, while "Written In The Stars" is a rather dull duet with Elton John. "But I Do Love You" has more than a little Alanis Morrisette about it but without the dippy energy, while the barroom rock of "Love Must Be Telling Me Something" is as flat as week old beer. After just ten tracks, I Need You concludes with three dance remixes that only demonstrate how much more bold this album could have been. --Mike Pattenden
