One of the best fishing reels ever made
Fantastic fishing reel. I used it on holiday in Barbados to go sport fishing for Barracuda, Tuna, Mahi Mahi (Dorado) and Kingfish. The reel was able to deal with even the strongest of fish with ease. The reel is robust and can operate perfectly even when salt starts to build up within it. The listed line capacity of this reel seems to be inaccurate as I currently have 210 metres of 45lbs 0.60mm monofilament line from Fladen on my reel. This reel can definitely hold more line than the manufacturer says it can. Overall, this reel is perfect for offshore fishing. It can hold strong enough line and has a strong enough drag to deal with almost any size of fish, with the exception of larger billfish. The seller, Toolville, was also fantastic to deal with.

excellent value for money
Definitely good value for money, budget end of the scale multiplier reel. It takes a lot of line, winds beautifully and very smoothly in operation. I can find no fault with it. It is not built for long casting, but does a respectable job fishing from the pier and ideally suited to boat fishing.

I was so impressed I ordered a second one. I've had a number of ABU 7000's over the years paying more than twice the price of the ABU 7, and I'm struggling to tell the difference. The finish,quality and smoothness seem no different. Great reels and certainly the best price around by ActiveOutlet.

Heavy but hopefully robust.
Performed well so far, easily handled double figure rays, feels solid. Downside is that it is very heavy, but hopefully that indicates robustness.

Absolutely superb.
I bought this reel as a secondary because I already have an Abu Ambassadeur 6500 CT C3 and it's performance has been brilliant I'd recommend it to anyone and for £53 you can't go wrong, looked after properly it should last a lifetime, I've owned my CT C3 for 15 years and it's in the same condition it was when I first opened it's box.
