I have given it 5 stars for "scent" but in fact it has no scent, which is why it is so good. Scented bath oils and foams are not good for delicate areas. It cleans very well and when I get out of the bath I often find I don't need body lotion as well, although it leaves absolutely NO greasy residue either on me or in the bath. I also have the Oilatum soap bar which is fabulous for the face as well. Both are relatively inexpensive compared to the scented bath oils and facial soaps one buys but I think they are the best you can use for your skin health and you don't need to use much, just a capful - a little goes a long way.

I first used this 40 years ago when I came out in psoriasis - my Father was in hospital at the time and they were using it there. I have been largely psoriasis-free for 35-38 years but a few weeks ago came out in a slightly different form of psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, all over my body again. I fid that Oilatum does soften and hydrate the psoriasis and reduces the itching. It can be added to bath water for a good soak, OR you can use it in the shower. The directions say to apply it to wet skin, I sometimes put a small amount on my hand and spread it around, or I pour some onto a sponge and apply it. This does have a cleaning action, although if I were very dirty (eg after a game of rugby) I would wash myself first with soap. It does make the bath or shower-tray slippery, so be careful. I use a daily shower-spray immediately after my bath and it makes it easier to clean the bath if I do not want to clean it immediately. Note, there is also a product from Oilatum called "Shower Gel", but it is purely designed to be an emollient that you apply to your skin AFTER washing in the shower, and then rinse off. It is not desinged to cleanse the skin as you might expect from the name shower-gel.
