Minions

I got this DVD for my grandchildren whilst they were staying with us recently, I sat and watched it with them, lots of laughter was had, good fun DVD that my 6 year old grandchild found hilarious, but then so did her 60+ grandma 😁 highly recommend, the children were instantly well behaved and enjoyed the movie.

Brilliant & hilarious film. I have already watched the despicable me films and I was so looking forward to seeing this. My son saw this with his school friends and thought it was really funny. I saw other peoples reviews on this film and I think if you like the minions you will enjoy this. Yes there isn't a lot of dialog but it's not needed. It really cheered me up as some people have said a bit like laurel & hardy (which I loved too - I'm old enough to have watched them). I think this is a great family film that everyone will enjoy. The plot is simple the minions need a supervillian to work for. Watch till after the end credits or you'll miss the minions with a teenage Gru. Simply a film to watch and forget you're an adult and just have fun & laughter watching a brilliant little gem of a film.

I saw the sequel of this film with my three kids (aged between 9 - 4) at the cinema when it was in theatres. As it went down well I have added this prequel DVD to the collection - we still buy a few films on DVD for use with an in-car player when travelling. This, along with the sequel, is a great kids film that appeals across a wide age range. One thing I will say is that buying this film and the sequel separately on DVD actually worked out cheaper than buying the double pack of both films (at least at the time I did it).

I did like this movie. Usually I hate prequels, and I did enjoy the Despicable Me movies more. I would have given this movie 3.5 to 4 stars, but my kids who are the target audience for the loved every moment of the movie. The Minions have been around for millions of years, always looking the top of the food chain to follow. Finally the find a place for themselves, but without anyone to follow the lives become meaningless. Three of the decide to venture out on their own to find the most Despicable boss the can. What happens when the Minions out do their master. The story was good but for me having the Minions not being able the talk was a little annoying but my kids seem to like it so I guess I had the ignore it. The movie does start out a bit slow, but it does pick up pace from the middle. An all round good movie, which kids will enjoy more that adults but that is who it is aimed at.

We bought this first, and then Despicable Me followed, but this will always be the favourite

I assume that most of the reviews for this film on Amazon are written by grown ups; I can't see many children spending their time writing reviews as I know how difficult it is to even get them to write a one-line thank you letter for a Christmas or Birthday present from a relative. So my review is based on watching the film with my three year old niece, for whom I bought it. I was watching the film for the first time, but it was my nieces' umpteenth viewing of the adventures of Kevin, Stuart and Bob. It was hugely entertaining, made even better by my niece's commentary on the characters and their antics; pointing out which ones were baddies, and telling me the names of them as they first appeared. As with so many kids' films these days (particularly animated ones), there are just enough adult jokes for the grown ups, pitched so high that the kids won't get them or even bother repeating them. Having grown up watching Monty Python, The Goodies, The Young Ones, Bottom and the like the level of humour in Minions was ideal for my infantile tastes, with enough bottom gags to keep the laughs coming. Great entertainment.

Delivery was super fast, so no complaints there. However was disappointed with the film itself, some funny bits, but mainly the bits that were shown in the advertising trailers. Am a great fan of Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, and was really looking forward to the Minions having their own film as they were brilliant in those 2 films, but it was a bit of a let down. If you want to watch an easy light hearted film then worth having a look, but the trailers show the funniest bits in my opinion.

El envío por parte de Amazon (B00YS4V58A) SÍ INCLUYE la funda externa holográfica (lenticular slip cover) que bien merece la pena tenerla (otros vendedores por el mismo precio, 11.13€, no la envían). No lo he abierto pero se indica español (Spanish) en la parte trasera, cosa que también he podido leer en otros comentarios. La película en si es divertida, no llega a la calidad de Gru (la 2 es quizás la mejor, con sus anti-minions morados y el "Pollito" del malo Macho) pero tampoco es de despreciar, en particular el principio, en el que se relata la historia de los Minions con la excelente voz del personaje de "The Walking Dead" - "Hershel Greene", que hacia de granjero en la serie. En definitiva la recomiendo, aunque sólo sea para completar la colección pero no dejéis pasar la funda holográfica que conseguiréis comprándola directamente a Amazon. Salu2.

J'ai commandé ce film pour ma fille qui adore les dessins animés. Je ne sais pas si j'ai bien fait car c'est pour le moment le seul qu'elle regarde, je commence à connaitre toute les répliques à voir de le voir sur nos écrans.
