Very good piece of kitchen equipment. Far better than others I have used. At least this one works well, and I am sp pleased I bought it. Reasonable price too.

Arrived yesterday. Seems to be an excellant piece of kit, good addition to the kitchen. Only given it 4 stars as need to use it a lot more in order to judge properly

Yes it's noisy and you get sparks its a grinding device but it sharpens knives ,scissors very easily and effectively. Would definitely recommend. The sparks and filings drop out of the bottom but would suggest eye protection as the odd one can go upwards .Have sharpened all our knives and our expensive ones seem to get a sharper result .

It's not very straightforward as the advert suggests, it's destroyed one of my knives because each groves does a different side

Our kitchen knives had reached the stage where they were so blunt they were dangerous. After a careful read of the instructions I tried 4 passes for each knife and they were better, a further 4 passes each and they are brilliantly sharp. I did find I needed to use my steel to hone them at the end of the process, and I suspect that finishing them on a whetstone would have been even better, but even without doing that they were way sharper than they had been. The instructions are easy to follow despite comments, you just need to work out which side of the blade the sloped edge is and put it in the slot that will sharpen that side. You don't need to use much pressure (and you shouldn't do so or you will damage the knife) and the suction cup grips quite adequately. Switch the machine off between knives and let it cool down, and all is well. I am so glad I bought this, I dithered for ages and tried other sharpeners, none were even close to this.

I bought this because it was a Which? Best Buy, and they were not wrong! It is the bees knees. It takes a minute or two to learn to use it properly - read the instructions! - but once you have it sussed it improves any knife.

Not fit for purpose , stay well away. Unacceptable noise level , very strong smell of electrical burning and having tried sharpening 5 knives , I now have knives that are even more dull than before . This machine does not sharpen anything. Returned for refund.
