โA Small Book That Truly Changed My Perspectiveโ
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ A Small Book with a Huge Impact! I picked up The Four Agreements after hearing so many people talk about how life-changing it was โ and now I completely understand why. Itโs short, easy to read, and packed with wisdom that really makes you stop and think. Don Miguel Ruiz breaks down four simple principles that can completely change how you handle stress, relationships, and self-doubt. The ideas are so clear and practical โ things you can actually apply in everyday life. What I love most is how peaceful and freeing it feels once you start putting the โagreementsโ into practice. Iโve noticed myself being less reactive, more mindful, and just overall happier. Itโs the kind of book Iโll keep coming back to whenever I need a reminder to stay grounded. If youโre looking for something that can truly shift your mindset and bring more calm into your life, this little book is 100% worth it.

A Thought-Provoking Exploration of Personal Growth and Spirituality
With the best will in the world, I think people can recommend books that changed their lives, but really, so much of that effect is fluid and malleable and based on fluctuating factors like; your level of engagement, your frame of mind, your time in your cycle, your employment status, the weather / season (yes SAD I'm looking at you), etc. etc. ad infinitum. I wish I'd read this before I went to Mexico because I would've loved to meet and talk to Toltec or Shamanic practitioners, and it feels a little bit like a wasted opportunity, but hey ho. The outlook put forward in this book is nothing groundbreaking or unique, but it is incredibly earnest, clear, well-argued and actually quite persuasive. I like that the message is essentially: "here's how to lead a happier life, you don't have to do any of these things, but know that if you do, and you put in the work (and it will require actual work), you will enjoy your life a lot more". The onus really is on you which is simultaneously annoying and empowering. I understand people's gripes with the dismissal of "trauma", I'm going to play devil's advocate and suggest that Ruiz wasn't referring to significant psychological, emotional or sexual trauma (or crimes), but more generally to the trauma and discontent of our own making - essentially the "I'm a powerless victim of my society, environment, situation" narrative that we are encouraged to adopt, so as to keep us in line. As someone who is increasingly openminded about spirituality and curious about animism and Buddhist beliefs, I found this book to be a great jumping off point for considering the nuances beyond the traditional Polarity of Atheism vs Christianity. I'm tired of being urged to pick a side and defend it to the death, I don't think anything is that cut and dry - hence the quest for knowledge, onwards I go.

A magic book
If you ever had any problems feeling judged, maybe making assumptions or taking things personally, maybe you dont like confrontation, or maybe you feel low because you are going through a bad relationship, a bad living environment or maybe even a toxic work environment. This is the book for you, and trust me, anyone could take lessons from this book that will seriously help you, mind and emotion. Dont waste time, this is the best self help/advice book gotten. People say you dont need advice , but this wisdom is so valuable, it will change how you approach conflicts and negative thoughts and i only had it for maybe less than 24 hours

The Four Agreements is a practical guide to personal freedom, based on Toltec ancient Wisdom. The Toltec lived in southern Mexico and were known for their knowledge. According to the Toltecs, gaining personal freedom seems to be achievable for those who pay attention to the four (positive) agreements to improve their own lifes. Agreements can be chosen in the past, such as destructive behaviours and limiting beliefs about oneself. To improve, it is necessary to become aware of old agreements and get rid of them. Dissolving old agreements can be reached firstly by taking care of the usage of words as they are a powerful means and can be very destructive. Secondly by not taking anything personally in a negative or positive way. Thirdly it's very wise to avoid making assumptions about someone and asking questions instead to build up a clearer perspective. Fourthly, after paying attention to the first three agreements, but especially being conscious of the impact of words, one should always give the best in life. All the agreements sound rather simple to maintain, but at the beginning of the book, the author stresses, that sticking to these four "rules" requires a strong will and can't probably be achieved within a short period of time, since old agreements must first be dissolved and replaced. All in all, this book is very fascinating to read. It's a rather short read but provides enough information about the Toltec's philosophy.

very interesting book which in my perspective teaches us how to be aligned with ourselves and to free ourselves from people's expectations, a bit of stoicism in it

Waste of paper, time and money. It could have been a set of four post-its with one agreement on each.
