Solid build and powerful LED light
Yale is well known for providing security equipment and accessories, this security camera with flood light is best example of how they approach to business and customer. Like everything however, has some things that could be done differently and better which i am going to mention further in my review. Camera out of the box impresses with build quality. Mounting base and all brackets are made of metal, heavy and solid which definitely improves durability. Mounting and installing this camera doesn't look different than installing any other flood light or camera. You don't need electrician, simply live, neutral, earth and that is it. There is already connector ready, all you need is extra cable to feed to camera. It may be a bit tricky to hold it though because them clips which should hold light while you connecting doesn't do great jobn and kept coming off so 2nd person to help would be necessary for quick and stress free instalation. Once you install it i recommnend to install at that point microSD card for local storage to save events. Make sure you get fairly big and made for cctv's. I got 128GB endurance model for long life and performance. Next, you need to do is download app and follow set up guide to link it to the app. Flood light with all those LED's is extremely powerful. Super strong while light make impresion like this is daylight which immediately improves quality of video at night when nightmode is off. But even with nightmode, quality is still stunning, you can see everything. You can adjust position of the light pretty much as you like however you cannot do that with camera and here is the problem. Arm on which camera is fitted only tilt up or down, no on sides which is shame since not always you can install directly in front or are you want to cover is exactly opposite. This is biggest downside of this camera in my opinion. Quality is amazing, light just this angle. For some people this may not matter since viewing angle is still massive, very wide lens but for me i wish i could pan it a bit. This camera and yale itself doesn't support cloud saving, it's rely fully on local storage to which you have access non-stop which can be great actually. No subscription needed, just cost of camera itself. Camera preview is a bit slow, and it has nothing to do with broadband, i have 1Gig and i still have slot camera preview doesn't matter if i am using wifi or mobile data. From app you have access to siren as well manually controlling light. I believe this is cheap security camera comapring to others on market and offers many attractive options. Very pleased with this Yale floodlight camera.

Expensive disappointment
Bought is as I wanted to get rid of having to use 4-5 different apps for all cams. Bought a full new Yale indoor and outdoor set, and this floodlight to replace eufy, ring and the solo yale doorbell. What they dont tell you: This does NOT work with the yale app, you must not only install yet another app to access only this one cam but you also need a new account to use it. It gets triggered by rain, spamming my phone all day even at sensitivity 1. Does not offer "Human Only" detection mode, the connecting is extremely slow too. Very disappointing, especially for the price. The picture quality is also only 1080p, if you want to see who's in the garden, then good luck. Last update to the system was at 2020. Shocking.

High quality premium product
I would describe this as a high end quality heavy duty camera kit It's a all in one unit and it's quite big It comes well packed in a large square branded box and includes... The camera and floodlight unit Mounting hardware Mounting stencil and instructions It's very user friendly with clear instructions It's heavy and bulky but in a heavy duty way its the flood lights they are very chunky and very bright and a good quality LED diode by the look of it The case is aluminium with fin stack on the back to help dissipate any heat from the lights It's a high quality and a nice black finish The camera unit is plastic with a white dome IR sensor below the camera there's a speaker on the back for 2 way audio It works with Amazon Alexa and Google and has adjustable bolts on all 3 componants for some personalisation and positioning It's easy to install via the QR code and your walked through the set up clearly and quickly It's very responsive, alerts are fast and the video quality is 1080p which looks reasonable the wall and guitars is this cameras screen shot while testing. there is some basic wiring required for the power lead and if its going up outside I recommend to use a suitable chord everything's clearly labeled and colour coded but if your uncomfortable with electrics you could ask a competent person to check it for you its basically the same as changing a plug nothing really As I said it's a premium item and being Yale brand i have good faith and knowledge from previous locking systems iv used that its going to be long lasting, safe and secure its bigger than I expected tbh but also built better than I expected so i guess a win win its priced about right for what it is and the support it has via app and online etc I think its pretty good value I hope you found this review helpful

High quality, heavy duty security unit with integrated floodlight, siren and camera.
Bigger and heavier than I expected this Yale Floodlight Camera is made from quality materials and has an IP65 rating so should have no problem standing up to the harshest of British winters. Included in the box is the light/camera unit, a mounting template, fixtures & fittings and a legible set of instructions. Installation is straight forward but if you only have a rudimentary understanding of electrical installations it would be advisable to employ an electrician to do the job for you. The unit is also heavy so a spare pair of hands may be needed to hold the main unit while connecting the wiring to the base plate. The 2,000-lumen floodlight is very bright and projects to quite a distance so you may need to angle or even shroud the light so it is not illuminating your neighbours property. Video taken at night when the light is on is reasonably detailed and sharp for 1080p resolution, IR mode is black and white and less detailed, daylight video is excellent. There is no cloud storage for video but a microSD card up to 256MB can be installed in the camera for recording purposes. To control the camera and lights you need to install the ‘Yale View’ App to your phone/tablet. Via the application you can view the camera and set up several options such as scheduled or continuous recording or set the camera to record only when motion is detected by the PIR sensor. An on-board 110db siren can also be set to go off when motion is detected, the siren is very loud and will scare the living daylights out of any would be thief, it'll also really annoy your neighbours if it keeps being triggered by cats or urban foxes. Two way communications are possible so you can ask the thief to go away after being notified of their presence by the PIR sensor sending an alert to the app. If you have a smart home assistant the Yale Floodlight Camera can be linked with Alexa or Google but I have not tested this functionality. What could be better? The camera can only be manually positioned and only in the vertical plane. If the camera had a remote pan and tilt function controlled via the app the Yale Floodlight Camera would be close to perfect. At the time of this review the asking price is £162.47 which is not unreasonable for the quality. Yale is a well known brand and has a good reputation for reliability so many years use should be had from the unit. Recommended, 5 stars.

Disappointing
I returned the unit as the functionality detailed on the Yale website is incorrect, it is difficult to set up consequently I cannot recommend this product.

Constantly had problems with it
We've had nothing but problems with this for the year odd we have had it. It worked fine for about a month then kept saying memory card not working. Tried multiple new/different cards and still nothing. A nightmare to set up and constantly needing to be reset to work. Would not recommend.

Good camera, good floodlights, no subscription needed
This is quite a bulky beast but not unattractive. And part of the reason is the versatility it offers, in the ability to angle the two lamps separately. The camera can be adjusted independently too. The PIR moves with the camera, which makes sense. It’s bright, at 2,000 lumens, if a lot less bright than one of those old-fashioned 500W halogen tubes. It does a good job of illuminating the detection area and allowing the camera to produce good quality images. The siren is really loud. It’ll certainly give any intruder a fright and attract the attention of neighbours. The two-way talk facility could be useful, although there are delays between a person being detected and the app establishing a voice connection, so the visitor may be gone by the time you start talking. No subscription is needed – a significant benefit over much of the competition. Recordings are stored on a micro SD card. The only trouble with that is that you’ll probably want to install the camera out of reach, especially since there’s no security for the cover over the card, but then it’s difficult for you to access the card yourself. Not that you’re likely to need to access the card, of course, because you access recordings via the app and can download any clips you want to save. The app works reasonably well but there’s a long delay in connecting to the camera. Fingers crossed that they fix that pretty smartly. Incidentally, when I searched for ‘yale view’ in the iOS app store, I got no hits. But, when I searched for ‘yale’, Yale View was among the results. Installation is straightforward enough, as long as you have ready access to a mains supply for the camera, of course. Once it’s up on the wall, it doesn’t look too intrusive but will have a good deterrent effect. If you’re looking for a powerful floodlight with IR and good-quality camera, this could well be a winner. It isn’t cheap, currently £169.99, but that’s quite competitive at the upper end of the market, especially when you consider the cost of subscriptions that go with some cameras. This offers a much better light than most of the alternatives, too. It’s annoying that the price went up by £14 last week. Maybe it’ll come down again. All things considered, though, I’d recommend the Yale, even at the new price.
