Good noise reduction with good sounding speakers.
Recommend these ear buds. I got a lot of use out of these until I lost them. They worked very well and were comfortable in the ears. Wore them under helmet when riding motorcycle. Wore under muff style hearing protection when mowing. Basically no different than typing foam ear plugs that must be compressed before putting in ear. These don't compress as much as plain foam plugs as there is a speaker in the center.

The man will never notice
Obviously you are just buying these to listen to music without being written up at work. Ear pro is required at all times at my shop so I wear these 60 hours a week. I've bought dozens over the years. They wont last more than three months before the wire starts to break or the foam starts to fall apart. I remember when these sold for $9 a pop and even that was too much for the sound quality you get but you're paying to not get harassed by the safety guy and you can't put a price on that. As long as you do a good job of hiding the extra wire the man will never catch on. Cut a small hole in the pocket of your pants so you can just drop the wire down your shirt and feed it straight into your pocket. Run the wire through the tag loop of your shirt so if you have to take them out they wont fall all the way down your shirt.

They are ok, but could use some improvement.
Well, first things first. They look identical to the safety ones used by the industry... 5 stars for that - No one would be able to tell that these are tune buds. They work great, and you get decent sound through them (don't expect high def) The only reason I gave them 3 stars is that the actual tune bud inside the foam is too big, and thus if you insert it deep into your ear canal it hurts after a while. I work in a very noisy environment and need the foam hearing protection to drown out the background noise. In order to drown out the noise -I had to scrunch down the foam, and safely Insert it deep into my ear canal while being able to listen to my music with the volume low. They need to make a much smaller tune bud, and then this would be awesome product. If you don't have a noisy environment, where you have to insert them that deep, then they should be fine for you. I will continue to use them because, I don't have any other choice. Being able to listen to music makes my work night go through quickly. I read many of the reviews that they don't hold up at all. I've been careful with mine, and I've been able to use it for two weeks. The package comes with an extra pair of orange foam plugs to replace once the original ones wear out - this isn't explained anywhere when you order - that was a bonus. Now, the package doesn't have any instructions on how to remove or replace them. I haven't had the need to replace them as of yet, but it shouldn't be that difficult. I wear mine under my work uniform and over a t-shirt and place my ipod in the t-shirt pocket - no one can tell I'm listening to anything. The cord is over 3' long and plenty of length to reach your ipod, or cell. Oh wait, almost forgot. Additionally, The tune buds have a small plastic tube that goes all the way to the tip of the orange foam (I guess to increase the audio without obstruction)... I cut that off because I wasn't able to insert them deeper into my ear - it didn't cause any problems at all. When you first insert the plugs into your ear... The music will be muffled for a few seconds until the foam expands... Then, you will get a clear sound. 4/25/16....Updated review. I decided to update my review of the product. It's still working, but only on one side. I guess, for the length of time that I've constantly used the safety tune buds... It's expected. I've replaced the orange foam ends once. i've had to clean everything periodically so that it continues to look good. I'm thinking of ordering a new set - for the cost, it's been a decent product. I have to say, that I've taken really good care of them, so that they would last. My only complain is that the internal buds that fit inside the orange foam protectors, need to be a bit smaller. They are quite large and after a while of wearing them inside your ear... it starts to hurt. I shaved some of the excess rubber protectant of the small tune buds, and that helped. It looked like the tune buds were dipped in some type of rubber something - so much material was there that after shaving some off - it didn't affect it's performance. Overall I guess, for it's daily use, it's been ok product. I know some people have had some issues with them, I've tried to give you my experience and performance. It is what it is.

Shockingly great for what they are
To be honest, I didn't have great expectations for these. I just wanted to be able to discreetly listen to music, and these really are perfect for that! The audio might not be the best, but it's more than good enough for while I'm working. The best way I can describe it is that the music is not as "crisp". That said, considering that it's playing through a surprisingly decent quality ear plug, I'm shocked at how good the music still sounds! Once I put these on, the ear plugs themselves actually worked about as good as the regular ear plugs. They are a little harder to get in my ears due to the mini speakers inside. (I should mention though, that I have very small ears, so that may be why they are both harder to get in, but also better at blocking noise once in.) Sound-wise, it was just like putting in the regular ear plugs, so I'm not worried about injuring my ears at work (my one concern about trying this). When I started the music, it was fantastic. I used a tiny old school MP3 player that I could just tuck down my shirt, and you wouldn't even guess it was there. Now I just have to be careful about not singing or dancing along, or my supervisor may think I've lost my mind :)

They are ok
I bought these to ride on my motorcycle and cut out the wind noise so I can listen to music and calls and radio works ok have not been able to extensively test them yet as it's still too cold but for the bits I have they block sound and play music pretty ok. UPDATE 4/25/25 - I have ridden quite a while with these now and I am dropping to 3 stars. These do work but are quite difficult to get a good seal when they work they work great the sound isn't the loudest but is good enough. Another review said there is a fat rubber part that makes it difficult to get into your ear and I agree somewhat it does make it hard to put these in your ear deep enough to get them to work perfect. overall I think I am going to switch to a different set of earbuds until I find something that works perfect for me. These may work for you and do work for me just to much to fidget with when going for a quick ride or when stopping in a store or something.

Thought about inventing this exactly, and found it 5 sec. later... Love IT!
Yes, I love the Plugfones... I've had for about almost 6 months and wore them daily at work (approximately 30hours a week) until a couple days ago accidentally stepped on them and put stress on one wire which now sound goes in and out of one ear piece. Can't complain only way I can listen to music at work minding my own focused at it.... so in a few days I'm ordering another pair. Now some quick 2cents. 1. I cleaned my inner ears daily so the extra pair of foams that go over the ear bud for swapping if dirty or tore up didnt get used but it was great knowing they are there. Have to make it seem at work I'm carrying new safety plugs everyday. 2. Have read reviews where some wanted the cord long.... I'm about 5'11 it was plenty enough length plus some slack 3. Running the cord behind your neck under the shirt and plug ending at the side pocket to your source of media is good. But don't have a small T-shirt because trying to be discreet about it goes out the window if you got that blue cord sticking out on your belt area, my remedy is to just fold the excess and tuck it on my waistband. 4. An issue where the cord hangs just from your ears and when you suddenly turn left the the right ear piece can just get tugged out since at that moment the cord sticks on to your skin sometimes. I am very conscious about my sudden turning, so I try to wear a tank top under my shirt so the cord has some slack around my neck. 5. Don't think your gonna fit in the whole foam, half of it is gonna stick out. The driver is small but not enough for the ear canal but all is still great. 6. Sound- I'm no audiophile but at this price nothing can replace this, low/no bass and the rest is alright. 7. Be careful how much you turn it up, couple notches and you have to be lip reading and hoping there are hand signals conveying the message clearly while you reach "smoothly" in pocket to pause it to catch the last sentence. 8. For small ears I would have to imagine your ears might feel some discomfort from the foam expanding whilst the driver resting on outer canal, but that's obvious I believe even with other headphones for 5 hours straight at a time. *Sorry for not organizing this review better.

Do not buy this.
Like other people said these are only good if you want to pretend to have hearing protection but listen to music instead. I wanted these for mowing. I thought it would seal out the mower sound but it does not. If you dont get them just right the hole is sealed off and you cant hear the audio at all. The actual hardware takes up too much ear plug space to seat in your ear properly. These offer zero hearing protection and do nothing to cancel out noise. The audio quality is also garbage. I knew it wouldn't be great but this is dollar tree quality audio. Eww. I actually could forgive that if the earbuds actually did what they were supposed to do. Its a great idea but these are no good for what I wanted. I realized my old pair of wired skullcandy earbuds do way better than these so I went back to that. You have been warned. Buy and cry. Id send them back but its too much headache.

Best stealth plugs
Before we even had approved earphones I was already using these, still do. You would think the sound would be muffled due to the foam but it's super clear. I ripped open an old pair and there's a come l cone that leads all the way up to the rear hole. Makes it kinda hard to get all the way in but it works. They are very comfortable and I can wear them much longer than my bluetooth ear buds. I've gone through many pairs. On my fourth because the jack. I tried to buy replacement Jack's and fix myself but found it difficult so I'll just keep buying. It's worth it though. I get around 3 or more months. Can't work without them and I can wear in front of managers and they have no idea, plus the sound isn't restricted like the work approved ones.

Description of product not accurate
Description is as follows "2 pairs of disposable foam tips". This is not correct, only one set of foam tips supplied. Very disappointing as this is why I chose these over another brand.

Great value - work under helmet
I use these while riding my motorcycle. I plug them into my Cardo intercom unit. The sound isn’t Bose high quality - but for the money what can you expect. They help reduce road noise which I wanted . The helmet slips on easy and they stay put. I’ve had numerous different types and I keep going back to these.

Avoid
Very quiet sound compared to similar earplugs. In fact I would go on to say they are pretty useless because of it.

Buen sonido sin mas
El sonido deja algo que desear pero bien ecualizado esta muy bn pagad por el formato buen producto, en mi trabajo hay niveles dañinos de ruido y sellan exactamente igual a unos tapones normales

Works like a charm
I work in a factory that requires hearing protection so we can't use ear buds, cell phones are not permitted on the production floor and they don't allow music. What a drag. (I connect these to a credit card size, portable FM radio in my pocket and run the cord down the back of my shirt). 10 hour shifts can be soooo boring standing at a machine all day. I've only had them long enough to use for 2 shifts at work but what a difference a little music can make while at work. Shhhh, don't tell my boss. Lol. They don't quite seal in your ear like standard work issued ear plugs but they have great sound and no one at work could tell that they were any different. Glad I purchased.
