Dork Diaries 12: Tales from a Not-So-Secret Crush Catastrophe

My 5th grade daughter loves the Dork Diaries series. This purchase was to make sure she had every book in the series that she had been missing.Instead of toys or more slime... she asked for books... A PARENTS DREAM!! I love to hear or see my daughter reading one of the books from the series and she starts laughing aloud at something that happens in the books. Or she wants to come share with me something that happened in the books. My daughter loves the writing and drawings in the books. My daughter also likes to listen to the audiobook version for free through the local libraries online platform. Sometimes she will listen to the book as she is reading the hard copy at the same time. My daughter's confidence in reading out loud has grown with this book series. While driving in the car, instead of playing music I would have her read the book(s) to me. We spend mommy & daughter time reading the series together as well. Not too bad of a hardship since the author does a wonderful job with the series. Reminds me of something that I would have read at her age. The series has also encouraged my daughter to keep journals too. So far we have every book in this collection and she is looking forward to The Misadventure of Max Crumbly series by the author as well. Usually after finishing a book, my daughter likes to donate them to her school library... but this is one series she likes to hold on too... reminds me of my love for the Babysitters Club.

Love it! I read this book after reading “diary of a wimpy kid” multiple times and being disappointed by the amount of books in the series.Totally recommend it for anyone who likes the series “diary of a wimpy kid” and the series “the misadventures of Max Crumbly”.

Bought this for my niece and she absolutely loved it! Dork Diaries is such a cute and relatable book for preteens. It’s full of humor, friendship moments, and real-life feels. The story kept her totally engaged, and she was so excited to talk about it with me afterward. Definitely a great pick for that age! 💕

This Dork Diaries book is one of several books in a series and a good gift for preteen girls.

I am a little bit past this book series target audience so take that into account. I like to read these books just for fun. It reminds me of the simple days in Middle School. Although my middle school was not as dramatic as Nikki makes it seem. But then again I never had the same problems she did. I like how many references this has to other books so I like the consistency in the narrative. The artwork is always super cute. Nikki is your classic dramatic middle schooler and I can't help but wonder if I was that bad. Some of the stuff she clearly blows out of proportion but after all it is her diary. I'm sure any kid would love to read this and I'm sure plenty of kids can relate. I am actually interested in finding out what happens next

My daughter borrowed this book from the school library. We have 13 month old pitbull pups... Classic case of "my dog ate my library book" I came to Amazon grabbed a copy for under ten bucks and in two days I donated the new one to the school and my munchtween keeps her nibbled copy (yes you read that right...lol...part munchkin part tween she's 10) haha 😂She read some of the book to me it's age appropriate and great for an avid reader who enjoys a good story with schoolyard drama (think 90s babysitters club style writing)

FINALLY!! the 12TH DORK DIARIES IS OUT!!!! It is the BEST BOOK EVER that i got BANGS to be like Nikki!! Fun Fact: during the Max Crumbly comercial when he was shown in his locker a message was wrote: Nikki was here and a pic of Nikki writing in her diary. But seriously, BEST BOOK IN THE ENTIRE MAGICAL DORKY UNIVERSE!!!(i got magic from the Harry Potter series) and here is ANOTHER dorky series for you Dork Diaries fans: Diary of a Wimpy Kid! Greg Heffley is a poor middle schooler who gets involved in dilemma such as The Cheese Touch, being friends with the WEIRDEST kid in school(he has "secret freckle", and dont ask)and having to deal with his BF who acts like a TODDLER! and this is my mum's account. Five out of five stars! If i could do more stars I would!!The plot was brilliant and so entertaining! The plot twists were also AMAZING!!! Nikki is brilliant and keeps me on edge plus I think Mackenzie makes the story better! I want to read them all and I can't wait to read the next one soon! Every time I get one of these I have to restrict myself 20% per night! keep up the good work! Well done!💜
