How long is the cable length on the solar power option that connects the solar panel to the camera?

I think it’s 2 mtr but I’ve put a usb extension cable on mine and it works fine

Yes, its the same camera. It contains 2 x batteries. The camera operates using the power of one battery first before switching to the other. Battery levels are indicated in the Ring app which monitors the battery level and, usefully, sends an email when its time to recharge. Each battery may be removed and recharged independently. The solar option comprises a panel and cable that connects to the camera to trickle charge the battery. I don't have the solar panel and therefore am unable to advise how efficient the charging is, especially in the winter months with shorter daylight hours and when the camera lights are likely to be activated more frequently. Its worth remembering that the recommended fixing hight of the camera is approx 9ft (2.7m). So, if fitted at the recommended hight you will need to use a step ladder to access the battery change. I have several Ring cameras (mains and battery) plus a doorbell camera. They all use the same battery so I bought a spare. This enables me to have a fully charged battery ready to swap out.
