Whether you are working on a totally stock restoration, a rest-mod where you are adding aftermarket power accessories, or a completely custom street rod. American Auto wire has a solution for your vehicle. Review: Nothing easy about installing this harness. 0 stars. - This looked like a better choice than another company’s restoration wiring kit. Instructions are better than expected, but they leave several wires than they go into detail about. The fuse block has a wire that has no markings or shown on the diagrams. The fuel pump fuse power is sent to an internal connector. Every electric fuel pump I’ve use has that wire going to the engine compartment to go to a fuel pump relay. That same fuse provides voltage to an electric speedometer. This is not mentioned. So the fuse names on the fuse block are not correct. There is no wiring to allow you to have the key in column warning buzzer work. You cannot hook up the seat belt warning system. If you have the headlights on chime, you can’t install it. This means the key reminder, seatbelt reminder and headlight / parking lamps reminder cannot be used. If you have a GM electrical diagrams for your vehicle, you can parts from the old harness to install these systems. For brake lights, they do have wiring for a third brake light. It has one brake lamp lead to the rear brake lamps which continues to the third brake lamp. The rear lamps are several sub assemblies that you daisy chain together. This leaves more non-weather proof electrical connections outside any protective wiring, asking for corrosion to set in. If you have automotive electrical experience, you should have little trouble making it work for your vehicle project. If not, it will be a challenge. Very disappointing experience. More money than the competitors, but not better. Electrical terminals are available for the year Camaro I own. Making my own new harness would have been more cost effective as new terminal connections are also available. Review: Good Quality, Not Quite 100% Factory - I used this product to rewire my 1978 Z28 Camaro. The harness is well made and the labeling helps. The new harness did connect together nicely however my original harness had the rear lights plug in at the trunk pivot point instead of running up to the dash. Just be careful and run the harness in the car full length before trimming anything.
