This could not stand a heavy thing like a brick hitting it but ?? few things would. Plastic. Bought a LONG time ago and have used it MANY times, happily. I have a used year 2000 restoring TXT EZGO. Had to replace batteries. Voltimeter does ITS job. THIS does ITS job. Also...friend had accident, batteries dumped onto ground, then righted.....ability to check more than just voltage was very handy. Numbers don't lie. Bought 6 new "refurbished" but with year coverage batteries...for THOSE it was especially satisfying to double check that I DID get batteries as new as the stickers said they were.

I had never used a hydrometer to check a battery before purchasing this one. I like the idea of having multiple measures for comparison. The process was easy, and the instructions were both on the bag and the device. A few reviewers noted they could not get enough electrolyte in the measuring tool with the bulb. You can if you press all of the air out of the bulb before inserting it in the electrolyte. I got the reading I would have expected because it corresponded with the multimeter reading and the fact the NOCO Genius charger did not find the need to provide charge to the battery when hooked up.
