Amelia is her name and conquering new challenges is her game! She's an up-for-any-adventure second-grader who's eager to try new things, provided nothing can go wrong. She takes up skateboarding with gusto and feverishly builds a swing set for her kid brother. But at the first sign of trouble - tumbling off her skateboard and whacking her thumb with a hammer - she's done. Her confidence shattered, Amelia frets she's a failure. But after a little self-reflection and some loving advice from dear-old Dad, Amelia learns she needs a "gonna get it done" growth mindset. With her new outlook, she discovers success has many definitions... more than she ever imagined. From the Without Limits book series, Mindset Matters helps kids learn and grow, and reveals why failing doesn't make them failures . Written for readers in grades K through 5, this storybook also includes tips to help parents and educators foster a healthy growth mindset in every child . The Without Limits book series also includes: Kindness Counts Empathy is My Superpower! Stress Stinks Everyone's Contributions Count Speak Up For Yourself Review: Absolutely fantastic simple but profound message for kids and adults!! - I rarely write a 5 star review. But this book deserves it. It's an outstanding book! Has a very simple easy to follow story line and helps kids learn to reframe their thinking. Not that you can't do it. It's that you can't do it YET. helps kids break down HOW to change thinking with a short specific checklist to help. We made a copy and posted it - it was THAT helpful!! Just gave a copy of this book to the school's social worker at the holidays too. Only "down" side (if you'd like to look at it that way) is that kids LOVE LOVE LOVE to catch YOU (adults) using the "wrong" mindset (saying you can't do something) and my child especially enjoyed "making" ME reword my own phrasing into the proper mindset. *I viewed this as a benefit because she's clearly thinking about the content and applying it. Plus - its helped ME not be exposing her to that negative attitude (that I didn't even know I was doing!) I rarely say this - but this book is most definitely a "must" read (& buy if able). Its that good!! And no. I'm not at all related to the author and recieve nothing if you buy it. Review: Inspired my son - Great book for my 7 year old. We have been reading it every night and he is at the point where he knows every word. He always finishes in a better mood after reading the book and is not translating the ideas in the book into real life situations.

Good message and my daughter loves it!
My first grade daughter's school counselor recommended this book as we've been struggling a bit with frustration over not being able to do things perfectly right away. My daughter loves this book and reads it on her own a lot. It has a great message. Nothing new, really, but it's delivered in a way that keeps her interested, so I'm happy with the purchase!

Good story and lesson
Good story about choosing a growth mindset instead if a fixed mindset. My son who has mindset problems, enjoys reading this book.

Itโs a great read for young minds to get them having the proper perspective for success. Donโt laugh, but my Grandson is only 10 months of age and he is the audience for this book. Heโs already used to being read to before bedtime. I read part of this book to him when he was staying with us last week. His Mom and Dad will pick up the rest.
