Better than a Barber. TOP TEN REASONS YOU SHOULD USE A FLOWBEE...
I would give it 11 stars out of 5 if I could. It is so much better than going to a barber. My first flowbee lasted about ten years, and when it quit working I immediately bought another. I haven't had a bad haircut in 12 years. If you're a sissy-boy and need a stylist and highlights, look elsewhere, but if you're a man who wants a simple, normal-looking, manageable haircut, this is for you. So without further ado, here's my TOP TEN REASONS YOU SHOULD USE A FLOWBEE: 1. It's easy. Like, I think a monkey could do it. It might have to be a smart, trained monkey, with some sense of style, but I think a monkey could do it. 2. It's repeatable. Give yourself the same haircut with almost no variation. Just learn which of the spacers/attachments you use, and that's it. 3. It's clean. It doesn't leave hair all over the place, inside your shirt and in your ears, itching and begging for a shower as soon as you're done. It goes into the shopvac. 4. It's fast. I can give myself a haircut in under 10 minutes, without rushing. 5. It's nearby. I don't have to go anywhere. I go downstairs to the half-bath where I keep it. The shopvac stays plugged into the wall. I hook up the Flowbee and go. 6. There is no waiting. No lines. No delays. No five guys in front of you. And no appointments. 7. It's never closed. I can give myself a haircut at midnight on a holiday if I want. 8. It is an investment that gives a predictable monetary return. I give myself a haircut every 2 weeks, whereas with $10-$15 at the barber I would wait until my hair was getting too long, because I didn't want to fork out the cash. Your initial investment of around $100 is returned in a few months, and after that, you're saving... well if it last ten years, and you figure one $10 haircut a month ($120 per year) over ten years, that's $1200 minus the $100 investment. $1100. Cha-ching. 9. It doesn't talk. I got so sick of listening to the barber tell me his same stupid stories and political opinions over and over. And I'm paying for this? Shut up and cut my hair. 10. No more bad haircuts! No oopses. No mistakes. No misunderstandings. It's cut the way I want EVERY time. 11. It's DIY. If you're a man, you like DIY. And yes, this top ten list goes all the way to eleven. Because, you know. Rock on.

I LOVE THIS THING!! IT REALLY WORKS!!!
OK....I gotta admit..... at first I was very leery about trying this product. I thought for SURE I was going to get into a hair cut and screw things up..or that it wouldn't look as good as your typical salon hair cut. Well...after all the horrible hair cuts I've had, and then having to leave a tip for that person who screwed things up on TOP of that...I was just done. I figured..Heck...I can do that bad all by myself. And not only that...if I DID screw it up...It would only take a short time to grow out. And the money I'll be saving is a huge plus. Do it when you want...how you want....and ....well...what's not to love about this thing? You do it when you want...how you want....where you want..and it's FREE every time. IT pays for itself quickly...and then its just gravy. I've tried practically every place and every stylist in this town and they all just didn't get it. They just didn't know how to cut hair for some reason....or at least understand the look I was going for. That's the hard part. Even if you get a talented hair trimmer...they may still not get the vision. This is how it is when you're making music. Some people just don't see the vision or know the sound you want. You may give them the best examples of what you mean...but if they don't get it and have it to begin with...no amount of words is going to help. The hair stylists style is HUGE...HOW they do what they do. And how well can they create that style they have. Some get it...but don't know how to replicate it. Some might be able to make the look because they know what you want...but they CAN'T get you that look..because they don't know how. Well...I had a GREAT hair stylist...but they moved to the other end of the state and I was left looking and looking. I did that for a long time until I finally got home one day after a bad cut...once again....and I thought. "Hell....I can give myself a hair cut THIS BAD FOR FREE!!" That's when My buddy heard about my ordeal and all the hell I'd been through and ordered this unit for me for Christmas. Well...needless to say this thing is KICK ASS! I busted out a rockin hair cut the FIRST TIME in short order and it looked SERIOUSLY GOOD! FOR REAL! I was laughing the whole time because I thought..."People are going to crack up when they find out I did this myself" And then I got to thinking...."Why do we think it's so weird to cut our own hair...make it look better than any other person could...and save ourselves tons of money in the process?" Well..the truth is we're taught that it's nerdy or weird to cut our own hair....and we never think to do something other people don't do. Well...I won't allow other people to tell me what I can and can't do...so ...it's FLOBEE TIME!! lol. And the truth is...it's because they CAN'T cut their own hair and save time and money so they think people who do are a bit strange. Well...now anyone can cut their own hair...make it look great...and save time and money with this thing. What I will say is this unit does have very fragile extensions to lengthen how far it keeps the blades away from cutting your hair. I accidentally dropped mine and popped one on the "fans" on the lowest extension so I wrote Flowbee up and they sent me a set of new ones so I'm all covered. I also super glued the one that cracked and was able to save it as well so I'm more than covered. But you should think about buying the extra set of extensions so you're all set if one or two decide to break. But other than that...hook it up to your vacuum and away you go. You can't do it wrong...and if you do...you'll perfect it as you go. There is somewhat of a learning curve. And what I mean by that is the more you cut your hair the more you'll dial things into the way you want them and get a better grip on how it works. But having said that...even on your first time it'll come out great. Its MORE than paid for itself at this point and I'll never go back. Now I wonder how I EVER paid all that money to simply wait in long lines to get bad haircuts. Now my hair looks better than it ever has because I know what I want and I know how to get it done. WITH MY FLOWBEE! I have a process I go through that gets me a rockin look every time. And then I smile at myself in the mirror and say..."I MAKE THIS LOOK GOOD!!...AND FOR FREE!!" LOVE IT...GET ONE...you'll be glad you did.

As Good as the Old Model as Far as I can Tell
On Jan 19, 2015, Flo, as she was affectionately known in our house, died. But she died on the job, amazingly just as she completed her last cut. I took her apart and tried to revive, but lo and behold the cam that connects the motor to the blades had sheared, leaving resuscitation impossible. However, the motor was still running. RIP~~~1992-2015. Twenty three years old. With at least one cut a month that is 276 cuts. Bought her on sale for $59. You do the math, based on how much a person would spend on hair cuts in your area, for how much I saved. But the savings is not the best thing. I did not have to make appointments, spend time in a salon, did not have to leave the house, it is fast (5 minutes at best), no tips, and as good a cut as I would have received anywhere based on my style of cut. Plus I can keep my hair with that just cut look as often as I want. Now if you do unusual tapering or cutting, it can be done with this, but it would take more time, and may require the help of another person. So I was hoping they still made these, and although the look has changed over the years, I was glad I found out it was still available. Since 1992 I found that there are other possibilites of this format available. I checked them out and still came back to the Flowbee. Some people here complain about the quality of the materials. From what I observed, I have found that criticism to be unfounded. Although time will tell if it holds up as well as the old one I guess. I have enclosed a picture to show the difference in design (new on left), but the plastic casing should hold up as well the old one under normal use. I do not think either would survive a drop on a hard surface. I agree, the plastic spacers should be of better quality, but they are the same material as my old ones, and they lasted 23 years. Yes, some of the old ones did break, but I was able to use glue or tape to repair them. I do not know if it was a mistake, but this new Flowbee came with two sets of spacers. I am going to still use my old ones until they totally give out, as they still fit the new unit perfectly. As far as how the new Flowbee works, it seems to cut as well or better than my old one. One would hope so as the blades should be sharper. No complaints here. If you are new to this system, make sure you use the oil supplied to lube the blades at least every other cut. The oil they supply should last the lifetime of the unit, as I still have some left over from the old one. One other thing I like is that the new one has a hose adapter that makes it easier to connect to my shopvac. By the way, if you want the most even cut possible, make sure your shopvac is at least 2 HP. I actually use the one in my shop and it is 5.5 HP. Draws the hair up to be cut accurately and as fast as possible. My kids did not call it the "suck cut" for nothing. So if you would like a hair cut that takes about 5 minutes, costs practically nothing, this may be the unit for you, and if it lasts another 23 years, I'll probably be dead or bald anyway.

Great product that could have been made better with minor added details
I used to own a flowbee a long time ago. Then went to a robocut. Now, after those are long gone or broken, I am trying to grow out my hair again, so I decided to go with the newer designed Flowbee because it has a wider, rectangular opening. It seems to work pretty well. I cant say I love the design of the attachments. I felt they could have been made a little better to attach and remove (especially the smaller parts). They feel pretty flimsy like they might break. Some more creative attachments would have been cool too to help make your cut not look like every strand of hair is so perfectly cut to the same length when youre finished. Sort of like a zig zag attachement to give your mop a look like a human cut it. Also, the hose / tubing is annoying. Like all the others cutters, you are trying to be precise and cut your hair, but are fighting the direction the hose wants to contort too the whole time. This is the same issue with all these types of self hair cutting systems, and I wish they found a different way to accomplish this by now. Maybe a different type of material that is more forgiving to movement. All in all, it was still better than my previous Robocut. And it cut in less time because of the larger opening. It still pulled my hair like the previous models, but I figured out the best way to make it NOT pull your hair out. Position it in a spot on your head, slightly pull it up and down on the same spot so the vacuum can suck the hair into it, and then slightly rock it back and forth. Dont vacuum your head as if you were vacuuming a floor, just moving it back and forth. You are likely to just have this thing ripping you hair out. When all was said and done, I had a pretty decent upkeeping to help around the sides of my head while I am growing my hair out. For shorter cuts, I see no reason why anyone wouldnt just go with a regular set of clippers / buzz cutters. PS....I didnt have a vacuum with a hose attachement, so I went to Walmart and picked up and picked up a small Hang On Shop-vac 2.5 gallon 2hp vacuum for 25 bucks and it worked perfect for my hair, contrary to the directions in the Flowbee manual stating you needed a 3hp vacuum. Maybe that is just for much longer hair? Im a dude, so my hair isnt that long. Probably about 4-5 inches.

Truly blown away!!!
I bought the flowbee because every time I went to a hair salon to get a haircut and style, they could never get it the exact way I wanted. I wear my hair in a fohawk style and for some reason, hair stylists that have cut my hair could not get it the way I wanted. I went to 4 different salons before buying the flowbee. The hair stylists would do a decent job, but never exact. So I came to Amazon and kept wondering if I should purchase the flowbee. I read many reviews (Amazon and others), watched videos, and finally decided to give it a shot. My package arrived quickly and I was eager to test it out. Protective package was nice and all of the contents you see in the pictures of the product were included. I read over the instructions but unfortunately, I was not in need of a haircut yet, so I waited a few days. A few more days past and I was ready to give the flowbee a shot. I followed the recommendations that the manual suggests so as not to cut too much too quickly. I took my time and experimented and about an hour after starting my haircut, I was complete. To me, it was the perfect haircut and style(I trimmed the sides and along the neck/ear with clippers at the end). The flowbee got my hair exactly the way I wanted it. It's actually "fun" and a refreshing way to get a haircut. There was no mess to clean up and I came away with what I regarded as a perfect haircut. I think I read a review that said to be careful to not go too fast or not toss back a few before using the flowbee. However, I could not see how you could mess up a haircut with this system. It's practically impossible to not cut your hair correctly. All I have to say is that this thing is AMAZING!! I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this. I am completely sold on this Flowbee. No more making appts, no more getting mediocre haircuts, won't have to worry about driving to the salon, smelling all the chemicals used in salons, or paying 25+ dollars for a haircut that takes them 10 min to do. Now I have the Flowbee and can get a perfect haircut whenever my schedule permits!! I think once you've done your a hair a few times, you can easily do a complete haircut within 15 to 30 minutes. Also, I did my haircut and style completely by myself. However I could easily see a Mom/Dad using this on their kids or a buddy using this on their friends with perfect results. If you are even semi-good with your hands and are semi-creative, you should have no problem cutting your own hair with the Flowbee. I would recommend this product to any guy/girl out there that has a short to medium hairstyle. I don't think that this would be good for really long hair but I believe it covers this in the manual. If you are contemplating getting one, DO IT! It really does work!! If my Flowbee ever breaks for whatever reason, I will order one the very next day.

Fan of Flowbee for over 20 years and still counting!
Way back this started as a "seen on TV" infomercial that you say "yeah, right..." but it is a fantastic tool that works great and saves you tons of money on haircuts. Originally purchased to cut our young sons' hair to avoid crying and tantrums at the barbershop... it soon became a great tool that we use for the entire family a couple times each month to keep hair looking neat and trimmed. We've purchased 5 of these over the years and given them as gifts too. Easy to setup, easy to use and does a great job. You don't get all those itchy clippings down your back or in your face. You get a standard haircut every time in the comfort of your own home. Just hook the Flowbee up to a sweeper or small shopvac, choose the length of cutting guard and clip away. The blades stay sharp and last a long time. We extend the life of the unit by using some quality oil (I'm not supposed to plug or advertise other products but let's just say that Carol Shelby endorsed this additive and it works great at keeping the cutters lubricated better than the oil that comes with it). My husband is a pro with this and regularly cuts his own hair easily. He also cuts mine to perfect length. Our oldest son has become a pro with the Flowbee too and cuts his own hair as well as his brother's. After a nice cut with the Flowbee and a quick trim with a trimmer, we all have great haircuts 1-2 times a month. Considering that cheap haircuts are about $15 each... that's easily $60 savings for every time our family uses the Flowbee. Top notch product and very glad they are still around after all these years!! I recommend the Flowbee to anyone... it's a great tool that saves money and does a wonderful job while easy to use. Our oldest has even requested a housewarming gift of his very own Flowbee to use for his family!

I should've gotten one a long time ago...
I've always liked the concept behind the Flowbee. I just didn't think it'd really work. Then one day I just snapped and succumbed to actually buying one. I hate going to salons as they never really get what I want done to my hair. Now I have full control over how my hair is cut. I've never been happier with my hair after owning the Flowbee. My wife ridiculed me when she found out I bought one, but we both just laughed so hard in amazement after seeing my new "great-looking" self-cut hair. I think I read another reviewer here who had the same experience of laughing in disbelief. Anyway, my first attempt at cutting my own hair with the Flowbee went pretty well, at the same time amazing myself too. I just took my time and cut in lengths of half inch intervals. I was also very careful in using the tapered spacer/guide as you can easily taper the wrong way when shifting from one side of your head to the other. As mentioned by others here, you'd need scissors/clippers if you want clean sideburns and edges. Just remember to practice first and run through your hair with the "vacuum on and Flowbee off" before actually cutting your hair. It just takes some common sense and a lot of creativity to get the haircut you want. PROS: - literally clean cuts - no more itchy hairs all over you or messy clothes, floors and furniture. - you have full control and you're able to cut your hair ALONE without ever depending and spending on hairdressers/salons (you have no one else to blame though). - fast and accurate haircuts (you get faster as you become more comfortable and confident using the Flowbee). CONS: - the head unit is big and feels a bit heavy - you'll get tired after holding it for long durations. would've been perfect if this was lighter and more portable. - the transparent plastic spacers/guides look flimsy and cheap (like they'll break/crack/snap anytime soon) but they work as advertised. - the electric cord just runs inside the vacuum tube extension where all the hair, oil and moisture pass through going into the vacuum cleaner. Although this doesn't affect the functionality of the Flowbee, this just feels like a last minute solution to keeping the cord out of the way. The cord should have been integrated/fastened alongside the tube externally. - the internal cutting blades/mechanism are a bit noisy and depending on the type of vacuum cleaner you're using, your ears may get strained and people in (or around) your house will know you're playing with your Flowbee again. Overall, the PROS overcome the CONS. Quality-wise: there's quite some room for improvement. Functionality and usability-wise: I think the concept is just brilliant. This is one of the most useful and practical products I've ever owned. I highly recommend it. Simply an indispensable personal grooming tool for me.

Super!
Also schnell her damit - was sich amazon nicht 2x sagen ließ -, Kapuzenjoppe für evtl.

Flow 2 the BEE
Wirklich.
