24K Gold Plating Solution, 24K Electroplating Solution, Immersion Plating Gold Solution, 4oz

I used this plating liquid to re-layer gold on parts of a 1981 guitar. My plating system was 16 volts, self made. The agent at that voltage reacted QUICKLY, not giving much time to move the parts around. This caused a deep layering that did not look bad at all. In fact, it made the parts look darker than the original coatings. A more "Royal" appearence. However, I reduced the voltage to 9, which gave me the same appearence but took a little longer as I wanted. Some of the parts, were large. Example, the Kahlar tremelo assembly. Use a large glass bowl and increased voltage to get a even coating at a decent amount of time (20 minutes). THE FINISH DOES NOT RUD OFF, it is a real gold coating that in my opinion looks just as good as the "professionals" with durable reflections like a mirror. To that, I believe there is good value for the money and highly recommend it. Be sure to clean your pieces BEFORE usage so that the electroplating is even and clear.

I de-greased a quarter, clipped it to my cathode. Hooked up my anode, and dropped it all in. I turned my power supply to 5 volts, because I read low voltage gets better results. After a few minutes it was plated with gold. I've done a bunch of these quarters and they look amazing. My cathode alligator clip looks gangster; it will have low conductivity during all future experiments due to its hefty layer of gold. I took a chance and bought it; it works. There seems to be plenty of it for hobby purposes. I have a few small items in mind and I will have plenty to use on random items whenever the whim arises. If you want to gold plate your bathroom hardware; this is plenty.

This stuff is garbage. It plates this muddy looking copper looking crap that falls off when you dip it in the rinse tank. I checked out "becker industries" website, it looks like it was made in the 90's and has zero information about any of the products they sell.

I couldn't get it to plate the piece I was working on when in used a plating pen, It did work verry well when I used it as a plating dip however.
