REOLINK Duo 2 PoE 4K Dual-Lens PoE Security Camera in 180 Degree Angle

I was a Reolink camera early adopter. The early cameras were 1080P and POE. I built my own DVR and had a nice little security system. As the years have gone by I have added pieces to my security system. First came the cameras outfitted with SD cards. This was a nice upgrade. Then they came out with the PTZ zoom cameras. These were nice too. 4K arrived and this was a game changer. The next improvement was motion detection and tracking. This with the 4K I thought was as good as you get. Then came the duo 2. This camera is without a doubt the best camera Reolink has ever made. It is just insane how good it is. The video quality of the side by side cameras in insanely good. The two images are stitched together to appear as one super high quality view. I replaced a camera I had covering the middle part of my back yard. It was a 1080P Reolink. Great camera that served me well. To say the duo is better is an understatement. It is better in every aspect and even more. First it has a full 180 degree view. I can see my entire back yard. The quality of the image is amazing. It has built in IR which lights up my whole back yard which is 40X60. If it detects motion the incandescent spotlights power on and it goes from the black and white infrared to full color. Again the whole back yard is viewable on the camera and in high quality. The advanced motion detection activates the internal SD card and also my DVR. It records in 4K H265 for small file sizes. The motion detection is night and day better than earlier models. Its smart motion detection can detect persons, dogs and vehicles. It is very accurate. No more false triggering the camera. I liked this camera so much I bought a second one with the built in spotlight for my front yard. My final thought is well done Reolink. If you're looking for a reasonably priced security camera with high end quality and features you can't go wrong with this camera.

Everything listed was in the box (even extra mounting screws/anchors), including a short cable for connection of the POE switch to the network modem. You must supply your own ethernet cable to the camera and your own POE switch (my old one died after about 8 years continuous service). Setup was a breeze - took 10 minutes (I had prior POE cameras so know the ropes). The only wrinkle was getting the SD card to seat in the slot. The slot is mounted a little deep in the case, so it is not possible to get the card to stay by pushing with the finger tip. I had to press it into place using the edge of a credit card. Other than that, no problem in setup. The camera even formatted the disk for me. My ethernet wire was already in place from a prior camera. Foolishly, I had let it hang out exposed to weather for > 1 year (under a porch roof) after I removed the old camera, which quit prematurely (it was NOT Reolink). The exposed copper wires in the RJ-45 jack were visibly corroded, so first try, the camera failed to connect. I then cleaned each wire carefully and individually with the edge of 400 grit sandpaper, then a tiny bit of vinegar brushed on with a stiff toothbrush; immediate, firm connection afterward. No problem with drops or disconnects. My particular wall mount was a bit challenging, as I had to drill into rough, irregular a stone-faced wall on the front of my house - covered by a porch roof - perfect to prevent sun shining directly into the lenses. There is some washout in areas of shadow under the roof when the sun is bright, but not too bad. Picture quality is quite good (certainly compared to my old camera), but I can't say it appears to be 4K. The image stitching is perfect. Certainly, the picture quality is sufficient for my purposes. Given my situation, it is very unlikely that license plates will ever present themselves to the camera, so I don't know if resolution is sufficient to read them. Individualizing all the settings - lighting, recording, and alarms - is straightforward and intuitive. The hardware is extremely well-designed and well made of quality materials to very close tolerances. Even the screws are high quality of stainless steel (a reliable sign of quality, in my experience) All-in-all, I am quite pleased with the Reolink POE Duo 2. Very good value for the price. The front of the camera (the black part) runs quite warm/hot. The website says this is normal. Since Reolink knows this and tells customers about it, I am hoping it does not make for premature failure. The duration of the warranty should permit operation through all ambient temperature conditions. In light of the overall quality, I am hoping for the best.

this camera is fantastic. It doesn’t catch spiderwebs like the other ones do the view is great. The microphone is very good and the lights kind of cute. It goes on once in a while when you stand in front of it. good value, but you might wanna upgrade to an AI model.

if this review is "vine" labeled let me reassure you, this was a bonafide purchase! i've been using reolink for over 7 years. in the last 10 - 12 months or so, i decided to take advantage of a sale and upgraded my rln8-410 nvr to the latest version, n2mb02. lemme tell, u - a HUGE difference with noise and more features to boot! the old one had a ridiculously noisy fan from day one and ours was in a cabinet with a door! the new one is whisper quiet. whew, what a relief! so on to the cam but realize that you will need the newer nvr to take full advantage of the duo 2's feature set. after upgrading the nvr, i decided to try the 5mp (rlc-510a) cam. the originals were 4mp (rlc-410). so while running both on the same new nvr, the video was noticeably clearer, and the mage detection settings were much improved. so yeah, i ended up replacing all the 4mp cams. well worth it. there was one spot where i was missing coverage without adding an additional cam. have the installer come back out to add 1 additional wire was an expense i wanted to avoid - not to mention the mess. back then, the duo had come out but the reviews were subpar. so i waited. i bought this duo 2 yesterday (yeah i know, finally, right) and WOW! where my others are now 5mp this is a 6mp and the difference is exceptional. didn't think it was possible to have this type of clarity at 11pm! during the day, the difference is not as noticeable. the "stitching" is well done although, there's a noticeable difference in shading at night. if it's there during the day, it's imperceptible. mind you, i also installed the latest - ...91900 (sep '22) firmware. duo 2 comes with more settings and one that i especially like is the spotlight. in auto mode, when motion is detected, bright 6000k light illuminates then after some duration, it goes back off. look folks, i don't work for reolink but this duo 2 is so good, it actually, showed images in color at 11pm where the other 5mp cams just showed b/w. so yeah, i'm a fan. the install was a piece of cake. while it has 2 cams, it only uses 1 rj-45 cable for power and digital signal when connected to the reolink nvr. my wires are in the eaves but i installed the weather-proof fittings this go round. should've done it with the others too but... cons: 1) when using the windows client app, you will see black horizontal bars above and below the image and 2) when suspended, the bracket needs to allow for a higher angle other than 90 degrees - perhaps 145, so if you want it pointing down more towards the ground. the good news is that it has a wide enough angle to compensate some, but you will see lots of sky. i'm still playing with the adjustments on all of the cams. they are configured to record for motion but can be very, very sensitive. the duo 2 would actually, record flying insects in the dark, till i tweaked the setting down a tad. that's some terrific sensitivity if needed. so yeah, quite pleased.

The two lenses system is great. I have wide field of vision and covers large area. This camera also picks up everything unlike the wireless I had previously which was hit or miss. Setup wasn't too bad had to run cat cables throughout attic and made area in utility for cables and hardware to meet along with relocating router. So far very pleased and recommend.

I bought a pair of these to upgrade a set of RLC-410s I had on the front of my house pointed in opposite directions to give me a wide view, and a RLC-411 on the side. I did have some blind spots, which were taken care of by the Duo cameras. I also gained quite a bit more vertical coverage which was an unexpected bonus. I have seen the reviews of folks complaining about the stitching of the streams not being lined up well enough, and I could tell that mine were off just a bit after putting them up, but under the Advanced section of the Display settings, you can make adjustments to the focal distance, vertical and horizontal alignments. I only needed a couple of ticks here and there to get mine lined up as close to perfect as I needed. Maybe the other reviewers hadn't found that section yet? I use BlueIris, and record constantly, so motion detection isn't a priority. Like everyone else, I did have to enable ONVIF and other options under Network->Server Settings. But once those were on, I was able to get them going under BlueIris pretty quickly. Night vision is pretty good, until you try to digitally zoom in. Then the quality drops considerably, but that's to be expected. Audio pick up is also good, and clear. I haven't tested the 2 way talk, or used the spot lights as I don't need those functions. All in all, I'm happy with them so far

Amazing camera, but way too many defects. What I liked: 1. The wide angle picture is amazing! Captures everything in view! 2. Built in security light! Love this feature! So many problems! 1. Camera keeps locking up forcing a reboot. The new firmware update seems to have made it worse. 2. Unable to connect with RTSP so I have no way of recording the video feed. I confirmed with support that I was using the correct URL, but it will not connect. No problem connecting to my other Reolink cameras. 3. Low resolution picture. Could just be their built in software, but it's not high resolution, you can clearly see pixelation even in "Fluent" setting. 4. Image has pink spots. See my screen shot. I'm concerned there are quality control problems with their image sensors. 5. Camera runs HOT! No cooling. No sun shroud. Outer case painted block to further make things worse. This can't be good for the electronics. I expect these will start failing after a few months of service. 6. Camera keeps jumping IP addresses. This was fixed by a firmware update, but still demonstrates the lack of quality control since it was shipped this way. 7. Horrible fisheye! If you can real time stitch images together, then you can real time correct for spherical abortion, but that has not been done. 8. No connectivity LED's Is it on? Working? Who knows! 9. Software does not support downloading of updates. You have to manually hunt for the update and do it yourself. 10. Does not display software revision. At least I couldn't find it. It's not displayed next to the update button! OK. That's enough. I'm done with this camera. Good luck with it everyone!

First of all, my company sells and installs professional camera systems. I'm literally an expert when it comes to CCTV. My home system has about 40 cameras that provide surveillance, obviously, but they also point at bird feeders and bird baths. I have six cameras in the chicken coop. Three cameras point at beehives. I have four bird houses in which I have installed cameras. And I have FIVE giant monitors in my bonus room where my wife and I can sit and watch all of the cameras. I've included a picture of my setup. That's not all of the cameras, that's just the ones displayed at the moment. I use an app called Blue Iris as my DVR. So those are my credentials. Now about this camera. The first thing I discovered about it is that it displays in a weird, 8:3 ratio. You can't change that. The camera has two resolution outputs, 4608x1728 or 4096x1536. Both of those are 8:3 ratio. This is a problem because if you are trying to display other cameras on the same monitor, you're going to end up with unused space on the monitor if your other cameras are 16:9 ratio like most monitors. I fiddled for a while and discovered that if you use a layout with a 1:2 camera ratio you can fill up the screen by having this camera span the width of the monitor with three other cameras below it, but that's the only layout that will let you fill up the entire monitor. Next, image quality: This camera's resolution is supposed to be better than 4K. And technically, there are more pixels than a regular 4K camera. So yes, the camera puts out more pixels than regular 4K video, however the resolution just isn't there. It's good, but it's definitely not 4K. I'm sure that's because of the lenses. Good glass isn't cheap, and for the price point of this camera, Reolink had to make some sacrifices. The lenses are where where they chose to save money. Don't get me wrong, the image quality isn't bad, it's just not what I would expect for a camera with 8 megapixel resolution. I should be able zoom in on a 4th of the image and see video as clearly as I can see it on a regular HDTV. But the image quality is lacking. Also in regards to image quality, there is no wide dynamic range, no defogging, no image settings other than brightness, contract, saturation, and sharpness. Even the cheapest cameras these days have WDR, so it's really surprising that this one doesn't. However, the default image settings look good. I only tweaked brightness and contrast a little bit on mine. Mounting the camera was easy, until I discovered that there's no way to tilt the camera from side to side after it's mounted. I had to take it down, straighten the mount, and then remount the camera. That little ball joint in the mount isn't a ball joint. It looks like one, but it's not. So if you don't install the mount perfectly level, your image is going to be tilted. Overall, it's an OK camera. For the price is a decent camera. But it has some quirks that prevent me from loving it.

Great workhorse camera. Cheap, large FOV and easy to setup. We operate over 40 Reolink cameras on our production line in a challenging environment, and have experienced only one failure in the last three years. They work great within their own system, but if you are using a third party (Ubiquiti or Blue Iris) to view/store, they can be a bit glitchy.

これまでSC3Vの製品をよく使っていました。 左右広く監視したい場所があり、Sv3Cの製品だと2個つけないといけなくて探したところこれを見つけました。 PoE接続でFTPアプロードできるというのが絶対条件のなか、私自身初めてのメーカーだったのでどうかなと思っていたのですが、結構使えるのでもう一台リピート購入しました。 ちょっと前後に大きいのと少し熱を持つのが気になりましたが、近年の異常な熱い夏を切り抜けたので多少安心しています。 WindowsのEdgeで使おうとすると、SV3CはIEモードでないと細かい設定ができないのですが、これはEdgeそのままで使えるのも良いところです。 使い方はモーション検知した画像をローカルのFTPサーバーにアップロードしています。 この時、一度検知してから次に検知するまで30秒程度空いてしまうので画像ではその間の動きが分からないのですが、本体にSDカードを入れておけば動画を保存できるので、その間の動きも見ることができます。 総じて気に入ってますが、これで長期間問題なく使えるのであれば、徐々にこのメーカーの物に入れ替えようと思います。
