Simple to use. Easy to follow instructions.
Works great as described. Easy to set up and navigate the menus. 30 year old VCR tapes recorded fine. Remember a VCR tape is low resolution so don’t expect it to produce a 1080 P image. A few 40+ year old tapes showed disintegration and would not play correctly on the VCR so obviously it would not work. Overall, very satisfied

Simple, effective, and perfect for its task
The user manual alone is sets this device apart from any electronic gear I've purchased in a generation! I've done video to digital transfers through the years with other devices, and this is by far the best. It is incredibly functional, yet in a nice small package, with intuitive buttons and menus. Not being connected to a computer is so refreshing, with a micro SD card slot, a USB-C for power or to charge its internal battery, and the built in monitor is wonderful. One thing that any who are expecting higher resolution than this device produces should recognize is that analog video media had a top resolution of 720x480 (and actual television recorded on VHS was 640x480). You've got to accept that video was different from digital, with a much lower ceiling on what could be compressed into its magnetic tape. (And remember that television and camcorders had a nearly-square 4:3 format -- which, in my opinion, should be left at that aspect ratio to maintain its true character; so put the aspect to 640x480 for recorded tv shows. Don't stretch 'em.) From my test recordings and viewing on my desktop's video editor, I am very pleased with its captures. How much do I like this great little tool? I am about to buy another! I returned because I realized that for its price, and the miles of old tv shows on VHS and recorded video on Hi-8 I have waiting for conversion, I could cut my project time in half by running two of them at once. (And I can even do overnight recordings using its simple and effective timer.) I have finally found a way to actually archive my video media, rather than "wishing" I would, or the piecemeal stuff I've done in past years. So I'm going to make this a spring project. Send me another! (I'm now finishing my Beavis and Butt-Head "Moronathon" from MTV, complete with all the goofy stuff broadcast in the 1990s, including commercials. Pee-Wee's Playhouse is next. The original wake-n-bake tv show! Fun times, digitally preserved.)

Easy To Use - Exceptional Results
I don't usually write reviews but in this case, it is warranted. Five stars for the ClearClick Video2Digital 3.0. I have been using this device on weekends to capture media from video (beta / VHS and audio) tape devices. Great results. The menus are easy to figure out, and once recordings are captured it's a simple process to move the files over to some sort of permanent storage. I especially like the auto-stop feature so I don't have to sit and monitor recordings. I can see and hear the recording while in process to identify potential problems (from malfunctions of the tape player). Videos are saved as .mp4 and audio as .mp3. The most work involved from my perspective is keeping source tapes in order, then going back to relist the files with meaningful names (replacing ClearClick's default of date/time, etc.). I have purchased three ClearClick devices, and they all are good products (and still work), but the Video2Digital is best of all because I can capture without using my computer. Also - I entered a tech-support question early on a Sunday morning and had a quick, personalized response within ten minutes. What manufacturer has THAT level of customer support? Highly recommend. This works great!! Just make sure you format your thumb drive or SD card as instructed and from there it’s as easy as plug and play!! Great investment.

Great VHS converter
The clear click converter 3.0 was easy to setup and has worked great. It’s also fun to watch the old videos as they are being converted on the large screen. Glad we bought it.

Works great for Hi8 and other old 8mm camcorder videotapes
Works great for Hi8! We have a lot of home movies from the 90s, some of them we never transferred to VHS so it was great to digitize the video right off the tapes they were recorded on for maximum quality. I didn't even need the instructions, you just plug in the RCA jacks and hit record. I used a SanDisk USB drive to back it all up an it had no problem formatting or anything, the raw files just go in an automatically made video folder. Glad I decided to buy this unit, and now I don't have to ever worry about losing those analog memories.

Wanted it to work so bad. Sorry I bought this.
I really wanted to love this. I really did. I tried and I tried and I tried but this thing is just complete junk. This is also the second unit I’ve bought, and both of them crapped out. I’ve never used a more finicky piece of electronics in my life. It has to have the exact kind and type of SD card, the exact kind of cable, the exact kind of formatting on different computers, the stars and the sun have to align for it to work correctly. Jittery video that can only be resolved by using adapters with S video cables?? Dear Lord, I’m not sure what kind of programming these engineers who built this were using, but it’s been an absolute nightmare headache and didn’t solve a single problem in my life, yet created 50. I’ve been back-and-forth with the company on emails every single day trying to fix what’s going on and gotten nowhere. It stopped formatting cards, then started extremely jittery video, then it started not being able to write to cards saying there wasn’t enough space even though they were brand new. Over and over and over I’ve been through so much turmoil trying to use this thing I could write five books. I REALLY wish this would work because I have mountains of tapes I wanted to convert and it worked great for about two or three of them, and crapped out… on two different units! What can I say, if you want to simply convert your videotapes, this thing might be the biggest headache of your life. I’m not sure if it’s because of this model or of all this company’s products are like this, but this one model I wouldn’t buy again if my life depended on it.

So far so good….
Easy setup. Not complicated. Does what it says. Transfer of old VHS home video to USB quality is good. Surprised that it recorded as well as it did. Only as good as the original VHS though. So don’t expect miracles.

FACIL Y SENCILLO
