JONGGA Original Can Kimchi (Pack of 1), Shelf Stable Canned Kimchi, Spicy Korean Authentic Fermented Pickled Cabbage, Perfect with Ramen, Noodles and Rice

I've never had Kimchi before but wanted to try it and I wanted it to be real Korean. A lot of people are touting fermented foods and I was interested. This is delicious! Flavorful, a bit spicy, crunchy napa cabbage and so easy to keep on hand because it's in shelf-stable packets. The 8 packets are sturdy, came in a firm cardboard box--everything was easy to open. There are three servings per packet and they are small servings by U.S. standards but it works. I had the first as a topping on a pork steak--excellent. The second I had alongside a small steak. The last I just ate as is because it was delicious. It would make a great sandwich addition--hot dog, burger, or chicken. I'm planning to try it with everything I like. It's low carb, low calorie, no sugars, and even the sodium is low enough for me. I have to restrict my salt. I'm also diabetic so I pay close attention to ingredients. No guilt food. A side dish or a condiment. Fermented cabbage may be a health food but I'm going to be buying it because it's delightful.

This kimchi is delicious! Just a little spicy, perfect when you don’t want too much. The serving size is perfect to just eat it as a snack. I’ve tried a lot of kimchi and this one is the best so far! Yummy!!

I have to say, this is pretty legit kimchi for something from a shelf-stable bag! My cousin's wife, who is Korean, makes a lot of homemade kimchi in a variety of recipes, and since we hang out a good bit, I eat a lot. Not an expert, but I know the good stuff. This is not homemade, but any stretch, but it is far, far better than I expected. I purchased these for a lengthy camping trip, for when the fresh veggies ran out, and was pleasantly surprised when I cracked open a bag. The texture is excellent, there's some radish and thick ribs left to give it a nice crunch. There's a nice little heat, but it isn't demanding, has some proper funk. Now I get these pretty often. They are really convenient to snack on at work, or dump in a ramen, or stir fry with some rice when I am in a hurry. I find one package is a good-sized serving for me. Even my 15 year old likes them (I find the wrappers in her room). Just don't expect the depth and intensity of homemade or some of the quality refrigerated ones from H Mart, and you will probably enjoy these. The two spicy ones are pretty legit spicy, and I love heat!

product is overall very convenient, being individual serving packs. serving size is a bit small though, would say its about 3-4 bites. I think this particular kimchi is more suited for westerners, as it tasted more like ketchup than kimchi. I don't know how to describe it other than that, haha. It's not an authentic kimchi taste.

Highly recommend. As others have mentioned it’s a unique take on kimchi flavor and texture but it’s immediately delicious and appealing in whatever application you’d want to use kimchi. Not as spicy as some kimchi so you can eat it in larger quantity as a main meal ingredient instead of as a garnish. The pouches are a perfect format for portions (one packet is good for a generous serving or 2-3 regular portions) while keeping the rest fresh for a long time, unlike jarred kimchi where I inevitably throw away much of the jar when it has been opened too long between uses. Super easy at-work lunch meal is a package of this kimchi opened on top of a an individual package of microwaved sticky rice. No refrigeration or ice pack needed, just toss a package of rice and a package of kimchi and a pair of chopsticks in your lunch bag and go.

I love throwing 2 packs of this in Japanese curry or a pack into ramen. It's also delicious by itself! Great seasoning blend.

Got the spicy one, I like that it shelf stable and the spice is good, but it pretty sweet, it taste like it's dripped in asian sweet chili sauce and not korean chili spice

This is good kimchi, good product. I like that it is in little sealed packs (I got the box of 8) - unlike the glass jars that you have to find room for in the fridge, these you keep on a shelf in a cool pantry. Long shelf-life, this is good because while I LOVE kimchi, I don't eat it often; if i get the glass jar, it usually goes bad before I can finish it. With this packaging method, you always get perfectly fresh kimchi each time you open a pack. Also seems to me the perfect quantity in the pack, for one-person side-dish. I took off 1-Star because it's NOT HOT at all (least not to this "chilli-head's palate). I like it hotter. I would LOVE it if this manufacturer introduced a 2nd product, same handy packaging, but with MUCH MORE chilli & spices in it. Make it, I'll buy it!

My first time trying kimchi. I have nothing to compare it to but I know I like it a lot. The price of this was high considering the ingredients used, but it is nice to get the idea on taste. I liked it enough that I've decided to find a recipe and make my own. It was well worth the try for sure. Perfect crunchiness and spice for my tastes.

Honestly, I never thought kimchi would taste this good. The flavor is perfectly balanced — tangy, slightly spicy, and full of umami. It doesn’t feel overly salty or sour like some brands I’ve tried before. I started adding it to rice, eggs, and even sandwiches, and it instantly elevates the meal. It also feels light and gut-friendly, which is a great bonus.
