Sport Hat

Looks cute on a woman. This hat is surprisingly not hot. I was initially concerned because one reviewer says it's hot. To my surprise it's quite breathable. It doesn't actively cool your head, but it keeps you feeling much cooler when you are under the sun than without any hat. I think the white fabric helps reflect a lot of the sun's direct heat. The flap has 2 layers - the inside layer is darker, same as the underside of the brim. I thought the flap may trap heat, but it actually keeps your neck cool because the stiffer double-layered fabric doesn't drape directly on your neck, thus leaving some space between your neck and the flap to allow plenty of air circulation. I have a pony tail and the flap keeps it away from sticking to my neck. Definitely cooler than without the flap. The flap isn't long so make sure you wear a top w/ high enough neck line. My head and neck sweat a ton so it's impossible to keep sunscreens on. With this hat I can skip wearing sunscreens on the back of my neck and ears. In the front forehead area that's a thick strip of fabric that's designed to wick sweat. I normally don't like sweat bands because they tend to trap heat and make me hot, but this hat's partial sweat band doesn't seem to contribute to overheating. On really hot days (over 90 F) I simply spray cool water on the sweat band so the wet strip will actively cool my forehead and keep me feel more comfortable when working out in the hot sun. The crown fabric is a bit stiff due to water repellent coating but it's not overly hot and it can double as a rain hat when the rain isn't heavy. The mesh sides provide plenty of ventilation so it's quite comfortable as long as there's some kind of breeze or if you are on the move. I bought the medium size and it's plenty big for me. The back adjustment as well as the neck cord keep the hat on me even in the wind. there's no velcro to mess up with your hair, and the pony tail hole is rare for hat of this style. I have long hair so I thread my hair into the hole as a loose pony tail. It keeps my neck cool. the brim is wide enough in the front but won't block my view. The problem I have with most sun hats are (1) too big; (2) too deep in the crown area or brim too low that they will block my vision; and (3) too hot because I am a big head-sweater. This hat doesn't have any of these problems. It's a great design with lots of attention to details that make it super practical and still decent looking. Note that this is a sport hat and not a high fashion statement. I wear it for hiking/running or doing outdoor sports when I need to keep my head cool and vision clear. It goes well with my athletic clothing. More over I can keep it on while driving because there's no back brim to hit my car's headrest, and it's also compatible with high back pack. I bought another SA hat (The Lotus hat) for non-sporty casual occasions as it goes better with my casual dresses. SA makes great sun hats for different occasions.

I had this hat, in my cart, for quite a while. Then I took another look, and decided to buy it. I purchased it in a size medium. Hat is unisex. All I can say is, why did I wait so long, and waste my time, when I could have been wearing it. It is by far, the most comfortable hat I own, and I have quite a lot, of sun hats. This one is so light, and has UPF 50+ sun protection. The highest you can get, in a hat. I live in AZ, when even in the early morning, it's hot and sunny. This hat is perfect for my walks. The length of the brim is just right, 4". Shades the sun, without restricting my sight. I also love the neck cape, which is 5". This way my neck, and most of my hair, are not exposed. It also has a ponytail hole, if you choose to wear your hair that way, and a wicking sweatband, under the brim. It has adjustable sizing, in the back of the hat too. I was able to adjust it, to the way I liked. It has a chin strap, and that can be adjusted too, so the hat will not fly off your head, in high winds. It is very well made, and this manufacturer guarantees the material, and workmanship for life.

Nice hat. Love the print and that it provides good coverage for my face and neck. The breathable black mesh is nice for cooling.

Super cute color and very lightweight breathable, and good quality and finishing. Great coverage! Ponytail opening is a little tight but not a big deal. I am able to pull my hair through and not need a ponytail holder. The l/xl is very large. I have a large head for a women and this is very roomy but adjustable so I kept it because the chin strap takes care of any wind gusts. I bought another hat that was uncomfortably snug and hot to wear.

I wore this hat walking the Camino for a sunny week in Portugal and Spain and it did not disappoint. The brim is wide enough to protect the entire face and the "ponytail hole" in the back kept my long hair off my neck and helped me stay cooler. It packs flat and weighs almost nothing. I've also worn it doing yard work. Durable, functional, high quality, light, and it doesn't look too bad style-wise. It's the perfect sunhat.

This is my third hat like this. One I use in my backyard; my "junk hat". I bought a newer one and wore it when I went out and usually left it in the car so I could use it. Then I lost it. I think I clipped it to my purse, but I guess I didn't do it right, and it fell off. I remember I was in a rush and it was a windy day. Of course nobody said anything or turned it in, so my $35 hat was lost forever. It is a perfect hat for me because I don't like a hat with a full circular brim. I have one of those, and when I wear it, usually to my backyard, I bang into the door or doorframe as I'm coming or going because the darned thing is wider than I am. Plus you can't put your head against a chair or wall and lay back. I love the neckstrap on this, it has a little plastic squeeze tightener so you can wear it loosely or tight if it is at all windy. There is a plastic clip on the back of the hat, which is attached to the fabric that sizes the hat to your desired size for the day, which is what I use to clip it to my purse. When I do that from now on, I will be sure to do it right because I don't want to have to buy this hat again unless I have to. I love the purple color because it is not dark or too light, which would show dirt. I wear a hat like this to prevent premature aging, which I think I'm doing a pretty good job of since recently someone told me she thought I was in my early 30s. I had a good laugh at that because I'm 46. I have been using these hats for about eight years, and will keep seeking them out when I need to buy another one.

I never write reviews but this hat is absolutely amazing! I hate being in the sun I am extremely particular about the sun since my skin is sensitive and I am all about anti-aging however I have two young girls...therefore I wanted to start going outside more with them. This hat is a game changer! I feel like I have so much sun protection! I got my toddler the kids version and she loves hers! We wear it together! My youngest is 6 months and I plan on buying her one as well. It’s lightweight, comfortable and love how it adjusts. I went with the large because I don’t like a right fit. I also love how it’s actually cute! The white color is nice! I’m in my 30’s and it may not be stylish for most but out of all the UPF wide brim great sun protection hats out there it is by far the cutest and best! I highly recommend and recommend you get the kids version too!

Obviously when you buy this type of hat, fashion is not your first priority, it is utility. It is almost impossible to make a wider brim look hip but if you are serious about keeping the sun off your face, coverage all around is key. I thought this was a good effort at trying to make the wider coverage brim look sporty. Unfortunately, for the price, I was rather disappointed. The material feels very plastic tablecloth thin which is a good and bad thing. It should be lighter/cooler and I could easily tuck in the back flap in as I planned but also felt a bit cheap and flimsy overall. The brim was slightly dented in a couple spots and felt like lightweight cardboard similar to a 12 can coca cola box weight. Likely it would not be able to keep its shape very well over time. On the plus side, the fit for my approx. 22.5" head was loose but the sturdy cinch in the back worked really well to tighten it up. I had also purchased the coolibar swim visor at the same time and found that to be so much sturdier so I ended up returning this one.

I just love this hat. So light weight and best fitting hat I’ve ever owned. Doesn’t flip up in the wind. Very breathable. Highly recommend!

fits amazingly, most hats don't cuz I'm in the 24-25 size range. Lightweight and great sun coverage, cute design. I'm very happy with it
