Initial Impression: This system is really cool. If you have DIY experience with installing switches and plugs, this is very easy to install. I just pulled out the old switch and determined which wire on the switch was hot ("line") with a voltage sensor. I turned off the breaker for the circuit and just followed the instructions. The switch/receiver is relatively small, so it fit readily into the existing wall box. I like that the wall mounting plate has holes and screws to mount to the switch box so the new switch can be installed right on the existing box. Both switches work well, and the lights turn on and off surprising quickly, event from the remote switch. I had put off running three-way switch wiring for years. I'm really glad I thought to search for this type of device. It really saved me a lot of time and money.

These things are great. This is the fifth variation that I’ve bought; this one (receiver and two transmitters) is controlling the exhaust fan in my woodshop. The hard-wired switch was in an inaccessible location, so I just disconnected it and now have two remote switches on opposite sides of my woodshop. I’ve also used them to add a second switch in a room with two doors, to move the light switch from _behind_ my side entry door to the opposite side of the door, and to turn on two independently-wired lights with a single switch. You can mount the wireless switches on door frames or solid walls where it's infeasible to run wires, even if you were willing to spend your time doing so.

If you're here reading this, it's because you're thinking about this, and I cannot iterate enough just buy it, it will (probably) solve your problem While it's a 3 way switch, it's actually almost a 4 way switch if you account for the base that receives the signals and actually does the switching - there's a small illuminated button on it that toggles the switch on/off, which is practically another switch. In my application, this is mounted near my electrical panel which is in the same area as the switches, and it's right next to my mud room door, so I use it just like the other two switches. Speaking of the other two switches... this thing has freed my mind of traditional electrical in so many ways. You don't need any wiring at all to add a switch. That means you can add a switch in your attic, add another light in a dim room, add a switch to your bedroom to control your outside lights, put a switch in a place that you can't safely/practically run wires, really the sky is the limit (and the range I guess, but, I haven't run into that limit). You can't even call an electrician to ask for a quote to add a 3 way switch for the cost of this. Not to mention, wiring a traditional switch into a place that doesn't have one already is a multi-pronged job. You need to patch and re-paint drywall, possibly in multiple locations, run the wiring, connect switches, add the 3rd switched wire between the two, etc. This could quite literally attach to your wall with a command strip, wire the switching relay in at the source, and you're done! It took me less time to add to my circuit than a standard on/off switch would have, I'm not exaggerating! An added bonus - this needs to switch the hot wire, not the neutral wire. As such, once the relay is wired up, you can turn the entire downstream circuit on/off using the wireless switch, so if your application like mine is to put 15 lights in a basement, you can use the overhead lighting, turn the circuit off wirelessly when you're about to handle the live wires, turn it back on (wirelessly!) once you've done it, and move on to the next one. Super handy, I really cannot say enough good things about this. The absolute only complaints I have is that it's only rated to 15 amps, and, the wires you have to connect to are stranded wires, not solid copper. I'd recommend using wago wire connectors over the included wire nuts to preserve these connections, as they're a little short as well. Someone has also pointed out to me that it may be difficult to wire into existing electrical boxes (IE your existing switch box that's behind drywall) due to using a locknut style connection through the knockout rather than a push-to-fit.

I decided to buy the other version that fits inside the ceiling electrical box. It does not require cutting the ceiling, but was a very tight fit. It's in and working. Wiring is required, inside the box, contrary to the instructions. I had to disconnect the wiring to the original ceiling light switch, and remove the light switch, marking and insulating both ends of the wires, then wire in this new remote receiver between the power leads and the light. Be sure to position the receiver so that it's LED and the push button face down and are accessible, since you will need access to them when adding a new wireless switch. The new wireless light switch installs easily on the old wall switch box because the backing plate of the wireless switch has holes that match the top and bottom screw holes in the switch box, so forming a new cover over the box opening. Adding the wireless switch to it is easy, since it just slides onto hooks on the box cover plate. This makes it easy to remove the wireless switch when the battery needs changing, or it can be carried around when you want it somewhere else temporarily, like carrying a TV remote, but it's safer to add an additional wireless switch and leave this one in place where the original was. Making new or several wireless switches work with the receiver and light only requires the power to the light circuit to be on. Then you press and hold the black button on the wireless receiver until the Red LED on the receiver starts flashing. You can then release this black button, but it will time out if you don't activate the wireless switch soon enough. If the LED stops flashing before you can press the wireless switch ON button you will need to press and hold the black button again to restart the pairing process again. With the LED flashing, press the ON button on the wireless remote. The LED on the receiver should stop flashing and the light should now turn ON and OFF with the wireless remote switch. If you want to add additional wireless switches to this receiver, repeat this pairing process for each wireless switch. I believe that you can add up to 8 of these wireless switches to this light. I purchased this switch and receiver kit for a wall light that I was replacing that didn't have a wall switch (just a pull chain on the old fixture). I wanted to be able to put a remote switch right next to the entrance door and have another switch at the top of the stairs. This set worked great. It was fairly easy to install. If you know how to wire a light fixture, it's a fairly easy transition to wire the receiver as long as you follow the instructions and pay close attention to the wiring diagram in the instruction paperwork. It was an easy plug-and-play setup where there wasn't any configuration that needed to be done to remotely connect the switches to the receiver. Basically you just wire up the receiver, push the button, remove the plastic battery tab on the switch and the switches worked. I was concerned because the instructions recommended mounting the receiver on the outside of the electrical box for the light fixture, but this box was not new construction and I didn't have access to the outside of the box. It's a small enough size that I was able to squeeze it in the inside of the box without much trouble. I was surprised at how far you can go with the switch and it would still work. I even tried to use it outside in the garage with a closed door and it worked through the wall. The switches are super easy to install with 2 small screws. The actual switch unit slides in to the attached base, so if you wanted, you could take the switch with you to whatever room you were heading. It would be great to be able to leave on a nightstand to use at bedtime. Overall, pleased with this purchase, and would definitely order again.

Due to a quirk of wiring, one lightswitch in my workshop is waaaaay over the far side, round a corner, in an annex built onto the side, with a corrugated metal wall between it and the main area. It's super inconvenient if I leave the workshop and forget to turn those lights off. I'd been planning - and dreading - running 14/3 Romex the length of the shop, then chanced upon this product. Honestly, it works brilliantly and exceeded expectations. I removed the existing lightswitch and drilled a hole in the side of its 1-gang wallbox (NB the wallbox is exposed, due to the construction - if it wasn't, I'd have drilled a hole in a faceplate instead) to mount the main receiver unit. Wiring is simple; neutral, line & load, and ground. The two remote switches easily wall-mount using a couple of screws (included) and are working over a range of maybe 30' and 40' respectively. As a bonus the receiver unit has a switch-button on it too, so I can now turn the lights on and off from 3 possible locations in the workshop. Product build quality is pretty good for the price. Overall, a really simple and convenient way to add extra switches.

I bought two of these wireless switches because of the low cost to try and see how they worked. They were installed on separate breakers and light switches. They have worked well for about 6 months, and I am happy with the product. It does take a little electrical knowledge about wiring to install, but not complicated at all. The only drawback is you have to install the surface mount Decora style Pica transmitter switch within the wireless range of the receiver. Also, when there is a power interruption, you have to turn the switch off, then back on to reset it. The light does not come back on like a regular switched light will. This seems to be an inherit disadvantage to this technology and not the switch transmitter and receiver.
