Better than doing it manually
This kit works well for installing seals. I took apart a lawn tractor engine, replaced the pan gasket, and it came with a new seal. Of course, a 30 minute job turns into 10 hrs, because of lack of proper tools and knowledge. I tried hammering the seal with a large socket, and of course destroyed the little spring inside. I got this kit and tried it again, and it's just way easier, no chances of destroying anything, at least not in my experience. You pick an appropriate size handle, fold the seal, and release it inside the bore, make sure it's seated all the way, and you are done. Pretty smart design, it's quick, and if you install any seals, it pays for itself pretty quick also

GREAT tool for servicing hydraulic cylinders!
I don't know if these existed before I retired from the trades, but if they did, I sure was missing out! I stumbled across these looking for a gland nut spanner and purchased them. They are AWESOME! Allows you to install a packing in a gland nut in SECONDS, with no damage to it whatsoever. High quality, super easy to use and worth every penny!
