Review: Must have book for sewers - This book contains a wealth of information on fabrics that's helpful to any sewer. I wish I had known about this book sooner. I use it often and will probably use it for many years to come. Review: Indispensable reference book for sewists - I like to sew, but have stuck closely to fabrics that I am familiar with because, well, I am familiar with them -- how they drape, how easy they are to cut out (or not), and how to care for them. Sticking with just familiar fabrics is limiting, but venturing out into a new (expensive!) fabric can be daunting. This book has helped encourage me to try new fabrics. She gives clear descriptions of how the fabric behaves, how to clean it, what projects it is particularly good for, and what to avoid. She also talks about notions and tools that will help you to be more successful with some of the more challenging fabrics. Definitely a keeper on my reference shelf.

Excellent!
What a great book. I have not been sewing for very long. The types of fabrics, presser feet, stitches lengths, and much more, are exactly what I was looking for. Very simply written making the contents very easy to read and understand.

A โmust haveโ book-explains Everything!
After reading this book, Iโm no longer intimidated to try sewing with some of the fancier fabrics such as Sequined fabrics, sheer, beaded, furry, etc. The book explains what needles to use, presser foot, etc w/each type of material. Has great pictures & easy to understand. Itโs a must have book for beginners & experienced sewers.

Good sewing reference
There are so many fabrics to choose from these days, and it is important to understand their characteristics when planning a sewing project. Especially, you want to know the needle size and type of thread to use. This book has much of the necessary information and is nice to have in a Kindle format, so that you can refer to it while you are out fabric shopping. Some of the newest fabrics arenโt included, and the book needs to be updated.

The book is a Fabric Encyclopedia!
I have always wanted this book, but never knew that I actually needed it. Fabric Savvy has all the information that a sewist need for learning not only about the fabric facts and suitable for, with sewing tips, but also how to care for/preshrink, what pressure foot needle, thread, and interfacing to use, seam finish etc.. to name a FEW. This is a fabric encyclopedia.

I didn't realize how much I needed it!
I have found this book to be very useful, particularly for washing and pressing information. I also use the needle recommendations.

Amazing!
Amazing book! I've been working with costumes for a few years now and for that purpose I rarely pick fabric by the name - priorities are color and draping mostly, that is, how it looks, while how hard it is to sew, warmth and breathability are usually not very important characteristics. Now that I'm upgrading my sewing skills to make "normal" professional clothes, choosing fabrics became a bit more difficult. Sometimes I find myself thinking "won't it look too costumey?", "is it really what's used for this type of garment?". And this book is EXACTLY what I needed to increase my knowledge and feel confident to get the best fabrics to make my own clothing! I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Fabric Savvy - A Savvy choice to buy
Excellent and must have for all sewers. Recommended on Brittany J Jones on YouTube, as her favourite go to book for sewing information regarding tips on over 107 fabrics and the recommended : pressure foot, needle, stitch length, hem recommendations etc. The print is : clear and concise, large print, images of fabric and more information regarding sewing practices. The cover page text is embossed (nice to touch), especially the rear page. A true reference guide, easy to use for all.
