Great pencils and trustworthy company. I recommend them highly.
I do a lot of pen and ink and these pencils are great and the tips donโt break off and I can actually use them if I make a mistake with a pencil. These will cover it up so I donโt have to use wide out, I highly recommend these pencils.

Pretty Good. Give it a try.
These pastel pencils are pretty good. Not the best, but definitely usable. Many complain about not being able to sharpen them; they probably tried to sharpen it as a graphite pencil, that won't work. The trick: don't use an electric sharpener, use a hand-cranked sharpener instead, and only sharpen enoug to expose the pastel. Don't try to sharpen it to a point with the sharpener! Another trick: I ordered some pastel sheets along with the pencils, so the delivery person won't just throw a small package on the ground, which might break the delicate pastel within the wood. Good luck.

Charcoal Pencils
I love these charcoal pencils. The colors are wonderful for coloring and blending. They sharpen nicely and glide across the page. They help to create shadows in my drawings and add definition without having to use markers. They add a softness to pictures. My only complaint is that I wish they can in larger packages with more colors.

Meets expectations
I'm very pleased with these pencils. I like the color range and the marks they make. The one issue I have is the labeling is misleading, as there's nothing "charcoal" about them. Charcoal would be much softer and darker. Tinted charcoal pencils are different; dark and not white or yellow. These handle much like pastel pencils, but are harder, and don't erase easily. I can sharpen them easily without them breaking. I suspect these have clay content like hard graphite pencils. They combine well with soft pastel sticks giving you the ability to make thin lines of detail. The price was also very good.

They are great & good colors!
I like them! I draw a lot with charcoal. I have not drawn with colored charcoal pencils. I anxious to see how they work! I paint a lot & thought I could do more charcoal pencils. They are not sharp, but a good companion with colored pencils.

Writes okay on walnut - for the wood workers out there
I bought these to be able to write on walnut which is a darker brown wood. It works but it's not really the right tool for the job if this helps anyone. The charcoal is soft and breaks easily so a fine line to mark a cut is a challenge. However, this however is MUCH better than using pencil though and they did not cost too much.

Ok
Good for sketching

Can't sharpen
Too hard of wood to sharpen. The soft interior breaks while the outer wood refuses to let go. Core is off center, as well.
