Review KAL HO NAA HO is the story of Aman, Rohit and Naina's journey together. How they discover themselves, find the courage to love and come together to celebrate life is what the film is all about. The first half of the enterprise abounds in light moments. Moments that bring about a smile recurrently, but the writer and director have cleverly injected drama in the goings-on in a subtle fashion.t is the second half that has its share of serious moments. The love triangle and the complexities of relationships, treated differently, keep the viewer glued to the screen. The culmination to the story which begins as the engagement song comes to an end takes the film to dizzier heights altogether. The climax is highly emotional and completely justified, in keeping with the story of the film. The end is pleasant, very family-oriented and will be identified by Indians everywhere, whether in India or on foreign soil. --platform47.comWith Kal Ho Naa Ho director Nikhil Advani makes an assured debut. The plot deals with the journey of three friends and how their lives get intertwined and change forever. One can't imagine the film without SRK. The actor delivers yet another towering performance that he can be proud of, when he looks back in life. The role gives him immense scope to exhibit a gamut of emotions and the actor carries not just his role, but the entire film on his firm shoulders. Preity Zinta has never looked so pretty, nor has she ever acted with such conviction. This film should consolidate her status as an actress of substance. Saif Ali Khan is a revelation. The actor manages to stand on his own despite towering performances by SRK and Preity. On the whole, KAL HO NAA HO has all it takes to emerge victorious. --platform47.com About the Actor There is not a dot in Bollywood that does not carry Shahrukh Khan's name. This is the first movie I've seen the famous SRK in, and he steals the show. Now I know why he's as popular as he is. My favorite song and dance number is Pretty Woman. Next comes the title song, which is very beautiful, with profound lyrics, and a haunting melody. I've played these two songs over and over again on the dvd. I don't think I've cried so much during a movie as I did with this one, which shows how incredible SRK's acting ability is. He is totally believable in his character. He made me laugh at his happy-go-lucky, free spirit, and his singing and dancing were wonderful to watch. Then you get to see his sad, melancholy side and your heart just melts. The other characters were very good, too, and altogether, a real family was accurately portrayed, with all of its ups and downs, assets and flaws. I think that's what made this movie so special to me--it was REAL, not fake. Just get your hankies out, or a box of tissues, because you'll need them (which is a good thing!). I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys Bollywood movies and SRK in particular. Review: Great tear-jerker! - First of all, I bought the blu ray through desertcart and not any of their vendors. It's not listed in the specs but it IS all region and it DOES have English subtitles for any who were wondering and for those of us who haven't mastered the language yet, despite the tons of Bollywood movies we've watched. The quality is excellent, so I'm very pleased and relieved that everything is good. This movie is a great movie if you're in the mood for a tear-jerker. The first time I watched it I hated it, but decided some time later to give it another chance. If you have watched it once before and hated it, you might want to try it again--you might end up liking it. SRK really is very dramatic in this, maybe a little over-the-top, but I love his dramatics. And if you're not an SRK fan don't even bother watching it, because you will probably just be annoyed anyway. Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta are good in their roles also. Now that I know what to expect from this movie I love it. The songs are also great and really get you moving.

Amazing and Tragic
I am an American who started watching Bollywood movies fairly recently. This is literally the saddest movie I have ever seen. I sobbed for the last hour of the film and I kept crying afterwards. That said it is a very good movie. SRK is the perfect drama queen as usual and he sells his character well. I always expect a good performance from him but he really tore my heart out with this one. If you're an emotional person, only watch this when you have time to curl up in a ball and cry for a few hours. Additionally, the ending is only bittersweet, not happy, so don't expect that to cheer you up.

lavish, brilliant, in a league of its own
One of my favourite movies of all time. A beautiful love triangle, an inter-generational story, and an extravaganza of a movie that is simply in a league of its own. The downside: the minor characters are much less complex and interesting than the main ones, and the subplots are slightly melodramatic. The upside: funny jokes, warm-hearted humour and storytelling, some great songs with lavish dancing and costumes, riveting twists and turns, and a great, satisfying conclusion. Fantastic, and will leave you breathless.

Wonderfully Moving Romantic Drama
Naina (Preity Zinta) and her family are at a low point in their collective lives until Aman (Shah Rukh Khan) moves next door and brings laughter back into their home. Naina falls in love with Aman, who reveals that he is married. Aman, knowing that Naina's best friend Rohit (Saif Ali Khan) is in love with her, tries to spark a romance between the two. What they don't know, though, is that Aman is hiding an even deeper secret. This romantic drama has a wonderful, moving plot. All three main actors give convincing performances, and the supporting cast (down to the children) are impressive as well. The musical numbers are beautiful, sometimes memorably so, with the exception of the mostly vulgar Club Nirvana scene, which keeps this movie from being five stars. Overall, this tear-jerker delivers excellent entertainment and is well worth the three hours spent viewing.

A typical and simple SRK movie, I suppose. It means … I like this. A boy meets a girl. Some love, twist, friendship, and … secret … This simple story makes me cry and think about the life … and … Yuriko-san, my wife. I appreciate she is with me… Thank you very much.

Absolutely shocked on how disgraceful the quality of the movie is, it is Cam Recorded which is illegal and also the sound is very terrible. I need a refund.

I have a few Indian films I always find them well made with good story-lines. This one is a real "tear-jerker". I'll not give much away, save to say there is a love story, intertwined with destiny or fate, playing it's hand, causing worry and confusion. The usual dancing, very well done, at a wedding celebration, so in context. A good film.
